<p>The white woman who, authorities believe, was the last person to see black teenager Quawan Charles alive before his corpse was found in a Louisiana ;sugar-cane field four days later, reportedly has an extensive arrest record.<br>37-year-old Janet Irvin has a checkered history. <br>The list of priors for the mother-of-three includes drug-related charges, as well as, burglary and receiving stolen property.<br>In 2010 Irvin temporarily lost the custody of two of her three children after she was accused of domestic violence and neglect by her children&#8217;s father, in Lafayette, Louisiana.</p>

<p>The children&#8217;s father, Joshua Romero, in a hand-written statement to a local family court accused Irvin of suffering from drug and alcohol ;&#8216;problems,&#8217; stealing prescription medication and money, dropping their then-two-year-old son on the floor and allowing the child to drink her beer.<br>The revelations come as the family of 15-year-old Quawan Charles has been unable to talk to Irvin about what could have happened on October 30, when Irvin claims the teen walked away from her trailer in the tiny town of Loreauville and into sugar fields.<br>&#8216;As far as we&#8217;re concerned, Quawan was under [Irvin&#8217;s] care,&#8217; said Celina Charles, a spokeswoman for Quawan&#8217;s family.<br>&#8216;We&#8217;d just like to know what happened.&#8217;</p>

<p>The established fact is that a few hours after Quawan left he was dead according to the autopsy report.<br>The teen was dead in the drainage ditch inside a sugar cane field next to a trailer park which, at the time, had ankle-deep water, according to locals. The field was in the tiny rural town of Loureauvile in St may Parish, 25 miles away from his home in Baldwin.<br>The revelations come as the family of 15-year-old Quawan Charles has been unable to talk to Janet Irvin about what could have happened on October 30, when he allegedly walked away from Irvin&#8217;s trailer in into the cane fields of the tiny town of Loreauville in St. Mary Parish.<br>The Sheriff&#8217;s office found the lifeless body after &#8216;pinging&#8217; his cellphone in the evening of November 3.</p>

<p>Quawan, a family spokesperson said, lived in a newly-built, comfortable suburban development in Youngsville, Louisiana., with his mother, Roxanne Nelson and her husband. However, a week before he died, however, Quawan was sent to live at his dad&#8217;s house in Baldwin, 35 miles away.<br>At his new school, Quawan had been in contact with Gavin Irvin, 17, who had been in school with Quawan back in Youngsville and, like him, moved.<br>For an unknown reason, Celina Charles said, Gavin and his mother Janet picked up Quawan at his father&#8217;s home and drove to their rented trailer in Loreauville.<br>Gavin Irvin claimed Quawan left their trailer park home on his own and didn&#8217;t say where he was going. Janet has not spoken to his family. Moreover, since the news broke, the Irvins have been evicted from their trailer park home.<br>Sheriff Tommy Romero said investigators have spoken with at least one witness who reportedly saw Charles before his death in the area where he was later found. Furthermore, authorities had &#8216;obtained and reviewed video evidence showing Quawan Charles near that area. <br>The &#8216;Video evidence indicates no other individuals present with Charles for some time before, or after, he is seen on the recording,&#8217; Romero said.<br></p>

<p>When Quawan&#8217;s relatives called in to identify the body and saw his face, they suspected there was more to his disappearance and death when they noticed parts of his lips and left cheek were missing while there were lacerations to his forehead.<br>The medical examiner blamed the damage on &#8216;aquatic animals&#8217; while the family posted on social media comparison photos of Quawan&#8217;s face with images of Emmett Till, beaten and lynched by two white men in 1955 in Mississippi after he was falsely accused of whistling at a white woman. </p>
