<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The naked body of an influencer has been found by the side of the road in Houston, Texas road after she disappeared over Thanksgiving &#8216;following an argument&#8217;. ;<br>The body was found &#8216;with no visible signs of injury&#8217; by city workers in Houston on Saturday after they spotted feet in bushes. ; The remains belonged to Alexis Sharkey, 26, police confirmed Monday. <br>Police tweeted: &#8216;HPD Homicide Detectives are on the scene of a woman found deceased on the side of the road in the 1000 Block of Red Haw Lane.&#8217;<br>Officers say they do not believe her death was natural and they believe the body had been there overnight, ;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.kvue.com/article/news/crime/woman-found-dead-on-the-side-of-the-road-in-west-houston/285-c5372e44-cc53-4f13-99c4-0a9da757ff38">KVUE</a> ;reports. <br>A cause of death is unknown; an autopsy is pending.<br>Alexis had not been heard from since Black Friday. ;Her mom Stacey Robinault, Sharkey was last in contact with her friends at 6 p.m., and no one has heard from her since, according to her mother.<br>Robinault, told ;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2020/11/30/26-year-old-woman-missing-in-houston-since-friday-family-says/">Click 2 Houston</a> ;her daughter &#8216;had an argument&#8217; shortly before she went missing but it is not clear who with. ;<br>Her mother said &#8216;There was an argument and she left and didn’t take her car,&#8217; her mother said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sharkey was a popular Houston Instagram influencer.<br>Speaking with ABC&#8217;s Eyewitness News from her hometown in northwestern Pennsylvania, Robinault remembered her daughter as a ray of sunshine who adored traveling the world.<br>&#8220;She was so excited about finding her way in the world. Even though we&#8217;re from a small town and she loves coming home &#8230; she wants to see the world, always wanted to see the world,&#8221; said Robinault. Adding, &#8220;Alexis. She was literally a ray of sunshine from the beginning.&#8221;<br>Robinault described Alexis as someone who was health conscious and loved selling organic health care products. She graduated from college with a major in biology.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Robinault said she had been discussing Christmas plans with her daughter in the days before she disappeared. ;Alexis, who had more than 21,000 followers on Instagram, regularly shared updates about her life, most recently a trip to Mexico. ; ;<br>Confirming her death Robinault wrote: &#8216;It&#8217;s with deeply broken hearts that Mike and I want to let you all know that Lexi&#8217;s body has been found. We cannot begin to thank you all for your love and the kind words you&#8217;ve extended to our family!&#8217; ;<br>Speaking before her body was found ;Robinault, who lives in ;Pennsylvania, had said: &#8216;[Thanksgiving] was a busy day on her end and our end and so it was just one of those passing, type of &#8216;Love you&#8217; things&#8217;.<br>&#8216;Then Friday &#8230; honestly, Friday got away. [It was a] busy day. We never talked, and then she went missing Friday night and I have not seen her or heard from her since.&#8217;</p>

And showed me how to truly love!&#8217;<br>Robinault said her friends last heard from her at 6pm and since then her calls have gone to voicemail. ;<br>She added: &#8216;They&#8217;ve [her friends] never known her to disappear and I&#8217;ve never known her to not communicate when we reach out to her &#8230; ever. She always has her phone with her. She always responds. ;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">An initial Facebook post about Alexis&#8217; disappearance had been shared thousands of times. Her mom had written: &#8216;Please share this post!!! My daughter, Alexis Sharkey, is missing!! No one has heard from her for over 24 hours and the police are involved. ;<br>&#8216;She has lived in Houston Texas since January and that was where she was last seen. Please help us find her and bring her home safely!! We are so very desperate!!! <p class="wp-block-paragraph">“I mean, just threw her on the side of the road, naked, like garbage. I just, I don’t get it,” said Tanya Ricardo, one of Alexis’ best friends. <br>“No one gets away with something like this. No one.”<br>Ricardo said Alexis spent Thanksgiving at her house and they made plans to watch movies with other friends all day on Saturday. <br>The last time they spoke was around 6 p.m. Friday.<br>Sharkey&#8217;s cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.<br>A <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/alexis-sharkey-memorial-fund?utm_source=customer&;utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&;utm_medium=copy_link_all" target="_blank">GoFundMe account</a> has also been set up to help raise money for funeral costs and to cover travel fees for her family.<br>The case remains under investigation.<br></p>
