Rapper Cory Thompson, aka Tripple Beanz was walking to his SUV in Newark, NJ, on Friday when he was confronted by two masked gunmen and shot dead execution-style in broad daylight

New Jersey-based rapper Corey Thompson, aka Tripple Beanz was walking to his SUV in Newark on Friday when he was confronted by two masked gunmen and shot dead execution-style in broad daylight.
The cold-blooded killing of the 29-year-old recording artist was caught on surveillance video, which shows his attackers fire multiple shots at the victim as he rolls on the ground. 
The footage from Newark, New Jersey, shows rapper Tripple Beanz walking to his parked car just moments before his killing.

Surveillance video from Newark, New Jersey, shows rapper Tripple Beanz [seen in white beanie] walking to his parked car on Friday afternoon, just moments before he is shot to death

The clip also shows the suspects taking off and hopping into their getaway SUV and leaving the scene along Avon Avenue in Newark.
The shooting happened around 1 pm on Friday.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Thompson was walking in the 300 block of Avon Avenue in Newark just before 1pm on Friday when he was fatally shot.

Thompson was pronounced dead from his injuries at the scene just 12 minute later. 
The footage shows, the rapper about to get into his Range Rover when two masked gunmen jumped out of a grey SUV that was double-parked across the street and ran up to him with guns drawn.
Video shows the attackers fire multiple shots at Thompson, who collapses in the middle of the street and rolls over several times as his assailants continue shooting at him. 
After firing what appears to be a final control shot to the head, the gunmen hop back into the grey SUV and speed away, leaving Thompson to bleed out in the road.
By Sunday, a makeshift memorial has sprung up near the spot where Thompson died, according to CBS New York.   
As of Tuesday morning, no arrests have been announced in connection to Thompson’s killing.  

‘Our hearts are hurting bad here at DFG’ – Thompson’s recording label, DFG, paid tribute to him on Instagram over the weekend

Thompson’s recording label, DFG Recording Studio, posted a message over the weekend mourning his death.  
‘Our hearts are hurting bad here at DFG,’ it stated. ‘Beanz man. A superstar in the making and more importantly family here. Genuinely was tryna [sic] change his life around. This was a man who WORKED and had SO MUCH TALENT This whole thing is so f***ed. Tripple Beanz, we love you man and your legacy will forever live on through us and your music.’
Just hours before his violent killing, Thompson shared a video on his own Instagram page, teasing his latest single, Brand New 40, in which he brags about buying a new .40-caliber handgun.
‘At the gun store bought a brand new 40 so don’t you roll upon me,’ Thompson, sporting a gun-shaped pendant around his neck, raps while mimicking firing shots with his fingers. 

Thompson, seen [right], with Grammy nominee Fetty Wap, was born and raised in Newark, started his career in the music industry at the age of 13. He released his first tracks in 2013 and went on to open for established rappers Lil Baby, Money Bag Yo, Lil Durk and Jadakiss.

According to his Spotify profile, Thompson has collaborated with the Grammy Award-nominated rapper Fetty Wap, whom he described as a ‘long time friend.’ The two released the song ‘Let’s Get It’ together in July of this year. 
At the time of his death, Thompson was said to be working on a project called ‘Hustle & Motivate,’ which was inspired by rap star Nipsey Hussle who was shot dead in Los Angeles in March 2019.
