<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Texas teenager was charged with murder after being caught on surveillance video as he allegedly beat his mother to death at the family home. <br>Stacy Ellen Barney, 50, of McKinney, Texas, was found dead inside her home on Sunday shortly before 1am, when police were called to the home by the boy&#8217;s father. <br>Police said that surveillance video showed the 15-year-old boy, who has not been named because he is a minor, beating his mother to death inside the home, police said in a statement on <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/McKinneyPolice/status/1345834877321699335/photo/1">Twitter</a>. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The teen had left the home by the time police arrived. Officers then searched for the boy, finding him in the neighborhood of the home, the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/fort-worth/article248255580.html">Forth Worth Star Telegram</a> reported. <br>He was taken into custody and charged with murder. <br>Authorities have not revealed details of the attack or what might have triggered the assault. It is unknown whether other people were present in the home at the time. <br>Police are continuing to investigate the incident. <br>&#8216;Our hearts go out to the victim’s family during this extremely difficult time,&#8217; police said in their statement. </p>
