<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Police in Middletown, Ohio have charged a mother with murdering her son after they say she reported him as missing, only to crack during their police interview and admit that the six-year-old had been killed and thrown in the Ohio River. <br>Brittany Gosney, 29, has been charged with murder in the death of her six-year-old son, James Robert Hutchinson.<br>Gosney and her boyfriend, James Hamilton, 42, have been charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">James Hutchinson was reported missing by his mother on Sunday morning, and many people came out to search for him, Middletown Police Chief David Birk said in a news release.<br>Investigators questioned the child’s mother, Brittany Gosney, and her boyfriend, James Hamilton. The couple then confessed that James had been killed a few days earlier in Preble County, then brought back to Middletown, where the family live, and put into the river, Birk said.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Birk said police would be working with trained searchers to find the child’s body.<br>&#8216;The river is very high and treacherous, so we will not be disclosing the exact location in hopes of avoiding another tragic incident,&#8217; Birk said in the release.<br>Gosney was charged with murder, and along with Hamilton was also charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, police said.<br>Gosney and Hamilton are jailed pending their arraignment on Monday. No motive has been given for the child&#8217;s killing. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Birk also said two other children have been removed from the couple’s home.<br>Posts from Gosney&#8217;s multiple Facebook accounts indicate that she has four children: two daughters and two sons. <br>Gosney described herself on social media as &#8216;Full Time Mommy!&#8217; and regularly shared photos of her smiling children and Hamilton, whom she referred to as her &#8216;husband&#8217; and her &#8216;everything.&#8217; </p>
