<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Wisconsin judge was arrested Tuesday on tentative charges of possession of child pornography.<br>Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Brett Blomme, 38, was arrested following an investigation into &#8216;multiple uploads of child pornography,&#8217; the Wisconsin Department of Justice said in a release.<br>A criminal complaint was expected to be filed Wednesday, the department said.<br>The images were allegedly uploaded through a Kik messaging application account in October and November. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Kik application can be used to communicate in group chats or direct messages.<br>After linking the uploads to Blomme, investigators obtained search warrants for his judicial chambers, vehicle and residences in Milwaukee and Dane counties, the statement said.<br>Prior to his arrest Blomme presided over children&#8217;s court at the Vel R. Phillips Youth and Family Justice Center. Currently, he is being held in the Dane County Jail.<br>A 44-page search warrant filed Friday said investigators determined Blomme, using the name &#8216;dommasterbb,&#8217; allegedly uploaded 27 videos and images containing child pornography, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/2021/03/16/milwaukee-judge-brett-blomme-arrested-child-pornography-charges/4721766001/">reported</a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Investigators searched Brett&#8217;s judicial chambers at the Milwaukee County Courthouse, as well as his vehicle and residences in Milwaukee and Dane counties, the statement said. Two of the files were uploaded at a Milwaukee County government building, the search warrant said. <br>Blomme won election in April 2020 and took the bench in August 2020. His term is scheduled to end on July 31, 2026. <br>Before serving on the bench, Blomme was the president and CEO of Cream City Foundation in Milwaukee, WISN <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.wisn.com/article/milwaukee-county-circuit-court-judge-arrested-accused-of-possession-of-child-pornography/35855215">reported</a>.<br>Blomme has not yet entered a plea in the case. A court commissioner set a $500 signature bail and he was released from jail shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.<br>If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison on each count. He will be back in court April 19.<br>His duties were suspended Wednesday by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Milwaukee County&#8217;s chief judge said Blomme&#8217;s court schedule would be covered by another judge starting Wednesday.<br>The organization&#8217;s <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://creamcityfoundation.org/">website </a>says it mobilizes philanthropic resources &#8216;to advance the human rights and respond to the human needs of LGBTQ+ people in Southeastern Wisconsin.&#8217; <br>According to his own website, Blomme lives in the Lenox Heights neighborhood on Milwaukee’s west side and he and his husband Chris have 2 children.</p>
