<p>Former MMA fighter Tyler East was gunned down outside his home in New Mexico — after he shot his girlfriend during a “domestic dispute,” according to cops.<br>The 30-year-old fatally shot by a man who saw him violently attacking his girlfriend outside his Albuquerque residence in the suburb of Los Lunas on Monday afternoon, New Mexico state police <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.dps.nm.gov/index.php/news-releases/item/875-state-police-investigate-homicide-in-valencia-county" target="_blank">said</a>.<br>According to police, East shot his girlfriend and dragged her out of a house before an unidentified man shot and killed East. The suspect in East&#8217;s shooting fled the scene prior to police arrival.<br>“During the dispute, East brandished a weapon, shot his girlfriend, and then dragged her out of the residence,” police said in a release.<br>“While outside, East was shot by a male who was at the residence. East succumbed to his injuries,” police said.<br>The shooter, who was not identified, then “fled the scene” and is still at large, police said.<br>New Mexico State Police say that they responded to a domestic violence call Monday evening in the Albuquerque suburb of Los Lunas. When police arrived, they say they found East dead alongside a woman with a gunshot wound.</p>

<p>East’s girlfriend was taken to an Albuquerque hospital where she is in stable condition, police said, without elaborating on where she had been shot. She was not identified.<br>East, a 6-feet 5-inches heavyweight, had a 15-6 fight record in numerous organizations, including Bellator, according to<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Tyler-East-45237" target="_blank"> ;MMA site Sherdog</a>. <br>His final fight was a first-round knockout loss at Legacy FC 60 in 2016, the site said. His final fight took place in October 2016 at Legacy FC 60 when he was knocked out by Brian Heden in Round 1.</p>

<p>Tyler East, the brother of former UFC fighter Cody East, competed 21 times as a professional MMA fighter from 2009 to 2016. He had reportedly, has had a <a href="https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2021/04/mma-news-tyler-east-shot-killed-domestic-dispute">troubled history</a> with numerous run-ins with the law in the past 12 years.<br>East has a history of domestic violence. In 2009, he was accused of beating a fellow Belen High School student in gym class. He plead no contest to a charge of third-degree aggravated battery and was sentenced to three years’ probation, which he later violated when he used a fake ID.<br>In 2012,East was arrested for domestic violence and indicted on charges of kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, and bribery of a witness.<br></p>
