Luis Martínez was wanted for past violent robberies by authorities in Paraguay when was executed alongside his girlfriend by a Brazilian gang.<br>Martínez, 21, was celebrating in Anabel Centurión&#8217;s 22nd birthday when gunmen walked inside the La Choperia bar in the Paraguayan border town of Pedro Juan Caballero, across from Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, on Monday night. <br>Amambay Police chief Hugo Díaz Speaking with Radio Uno 650 AM, revealed that the assailants attacked Martínez and Centurión, who attempted to save her boyfriend from the gunfire by shielding him with her body,<br>Martínez was shot at least 36 times and was pronounced dead at the scene. <br>Centurión died after arriving at an area hospital. <br>At least two other people who were sitting at a table next to the birthday dinner party of nine were shot. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening. <br>After the hail of bullets, the killer gang reportedly left a note near the bodies that read: &#8216;Please do not steal.&#8217; </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The shooting took place in the Paraguayan border town of Pedro Juan Caballero, across from the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Díaz said that investigators were reviewing security cameras from nearby businesses to determine the identities of the shooters. <br>Police investigator Aníbal Franco told reporters that the assassination was carried out by &#8216;two or three people who were traveling in a gray car.&#8217; <br>Díaz added that Martínez had been wanted for aggravated robberies allegedly committed in 2018 and 2019. </p>
