<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A suspected serial killer who has been linked to at least six murders &#8211; including that of a 16-year-old girl &#8211; in Kansas and Missouri has been arrested on a federal weapons charge.<br>Perez Reed, a 25-year-old man with a crescent moon tattoo between his eyes, was taken into custody by FBI agents on Friday, after being found to be in possession of the gun that was allegedly used in all the attacks. <br>So far, Reed has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reed, who turns 26 on Wednesday, is being investigated in connection with a half-dozen murders that took place between mid-September and early November in and around St Louis and Kansas City, Kansas. <br>Many of the victims were female sex workers, or transgender people. They ranged in age from 16 to 49 years old. <br>Authorities said Reed shot an unnamed man multiple times in the chest on September 12 in St Louis County. The victim survived but was left with a permanent disability, reported<a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.kmov.com/news/man-accused-of-several-murders-in-st-louis-county-city-is-charged/article_756527f8-4040-11ec-8907-37e64cdb8de9.html"> KMOV4.</a><br>On September 26, Reed allegedly used the same gun to kill 40-year-old Lester Robison in the 1700 block of Barbados Lane in St Louis . <br>The next day, Reed allegedly shot and killed 16-year-old Marnay Haynes &#8216;in a distinctive manner&#8217; in the 9900 block of Glen Owen Drive in St Louis.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Authorities laid out the timelines for the suspected serial killer&#8217;s crimes: Police led timeline of serial killings spanning a two month period mostly within the St. Louis, Missouri and Kansas City area in Kansas.<br>The first victim, Marnay Haynes, was killed on September 13, in the 9900 block of Glen Owen Drive, St Louis, Missouri. <br>16-year-old Haynes who had been reported missing as a runaway, was found laying in the street and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://fox2now.com/news/missouri/man-in-fbi-custody-for-2-st-louis-county-murders-could-be-connected-to-more-killings/">Fox 2 Now. </a> <br>Three days later on September 16, the oldest victim so far, Pamela Abercrombie, 49, was found shot dead on the intersection of West Florissant Avenue and East Prairie Avenue in St Louis. <br>The killer struck again after three days. On September 19, Casey Ross, 24, was discovered dead from gunshot wounds in a vacant lot at the intersection of North 15th Street and Mullanphy Street in St Louis, according to KMOV4. <br>Less than two weeks later, Reed allegedly used the same gun and same &#8216;distinctive manner&#8217; as in the Haynes murder to kill 40-year-old Lester Robison in the 1700 block of Barbados Lane, Ferguson on September 26. <br>Police did not elaborate on the exact manner of the killings. <br>By November 1, he&#8217;d shifted his spree to the Kansas where neighbors Damon Irvin, 35, and Rau&#8217;Daja Fairrow, 25, were found shot dead in their separate units at the Wyndotte Apartments complex in Kansas City. Irvin was killed November 1, Fairrow on November 2. <br>The Kansas City killer wore the same shoes to both murders and then kept them on at further crime scenes, which led police to search local phone networks to look for a cellphone connection.<br>Police discovered a cellphone number that was used at both crime scenes. The phone number was then tracked to an Amtrak ticket the killer he had purchased.<br>An FBI task force followed the suspected serial killer when he exited the train and transferred to a bus in Independence, Missouri, and picked him up on Friday. <br>Shell casings recovered from the shooting scenes all matched the same .40 caliber Smith &; Wesson gun that was found in Reed&#8217;s possession when he was arrested. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At the time of his arrest, officials said Reed also was wearing shoes that linked him to the crime scenes. <br>Investigators said they do not believe any of the victims knew one another, or Reed, prior to the shootings. No motive has been announced as of Monday. <br>Reed is currently being held in federal custody. If he is transferred to St Louis County, he will be ordered held on $2million cash bail. </p>
