<p>Five women were arrested on suspicion of cocaine smuggling at a Colombian airport after airport police caught one of them concealing the drug in a fake baby bump. <br>The bust early Friday when they noticed that one member of a group female travelers was pretending to be pregnant while passing through security screening area at Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport in Barranquilla. <br>Police at the airport intercepted and arrested five women and a man who were trying to fly to Bogota on Friday with 16 and a half kilos of cocaine. </p>

<p>Authorities indicated that “the arrests occurred when ;police units ;attached to the airport police station profiled five passengers who, apparently, pretended to be pregnant. ;<br>While conducting the body search, they realized that the baby bump was false. Inside the contraption the searchers found some packages that contained a powdery substance that on later tests proved to be cocaine. ;<br>Immediately, the temporary suspension of the flight was ordered while the uniformed officers carried out searches of other passengers who were in the waiting room. ; ;</p>

<p>The suspect&#8217;s four female companions were also searched and found to similarly have cocaine packages strapped to their abdomen. <br>Airport security said the women&#8217;s male companion man had gone to the plane&#8217;s bathroom and abandoned ;three packages ;containing cocaine before he was also busted. <br>Colombian newspaper ;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.elheraldo.co/judicial/cinco-mujeres-fingieron-estar-embarazadas-para-llevar-droga-en-barranquilla-892102" target="_blank">El Heraldo ;</a>identified the women as Olga Charris, Shelian De León, Sharon Naranjo, Laura Sáenz and Angie Contreras. <br>Their male travelling companion was identified as Wilmer Contreras was placed in custody. <br>In all, authorities were able to seize 14 bundles of cocaine and confiscated an unknown amount of psychedelic drugs that Contreras was in possession of.</p>

<p>The six suspects were turned over to the Attorney General’s office. They face charges that include the manufacture, trafficking or possession of narcotics. <br>Prosecutors have 36 hours to formally charge each of the six suspects. <br>Friday’s bust comes after customs agents at El Dorado International Airport in Medellin intercepts a box with six kilos of ecstasy pills that had been shipped aboard a flight from Madrid on February 12. <br>Police said the pills were scheduled to be delivered to Cartagena, near Barranquilla, and sold in nightclubs and bars.</p>
