<p>A woman was shot dead by her ex-husband in a murder-suicide when he traveled 710 miles to &#8216;salvage&#8217; their marriage after she posted about her divorce journey on <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/tiktok/index.html">TikTok</a>. <br>Sania Khan, 29, was killed in her own home by Raheel Ahmad, 36, after she started opening up about her divorce and healing journey on social media. <br>The recently divorced woman had been vulnerable on social media about her struggles with her marriage as a South Asian woman. She was found dead last Monday. <br>The Pakistani-American photographer wrote online that she had &#8216;never been happier&#8217; just weeks before she was killed by her ex-husband in Streeterville, Chicago.<br>She was found by police with a gunshot wound to the back of her head on July 18.</p>

<p>In one TikTok, she revealed that their marriage lasted less than a year before she filed for a divorce &#8211; and she told her fans that she was excited for her new chapter in life. ;<br>She wrote in one clip: &#8216;The first few months of any divorce journey is the darkest. It&#8217;s full of anxiety, sleepless nights, wondering if you&#8217;re doing the right thing. <br>&#8216;You are not a failure because your marriage did not work out. Be gentle with your heart during this stage.&#8217; ;</p>

<p>She also told her 16,000 followers that she&#8217;d finally &#8216;reclaimed her autonomy&#8217; and got her first tattoo to represent the number 28 &#8211; which was the year she &#8216;got married, moved from a small town to one of the largest cities in the county, filed for divorce.&#8217; <br>Khan added: &#8216;It&#8217;s the year that changed f****** everything. Tomorrow, I&#8217;ll wake up as a 29-year-old. Here&#8217;s to new beginnings. <p>According to friends, the couple finalized the divorce back in May.<br>However, 29-year-old Sania Khan&#8217;s excited anticipation of resetting and embarking on a new chapter of her life as a single woman came crashing last week after she was killed by her ex-husband at her home in Chicago.<br>The police report states: “In the 200 block of E. Ohio, on July 18, 2022, at approx. 4:30 p.m., a female, 29, and a male, 36, were discovered unresponsive inside of a residence, both with gunshot wounds to the head,” police said.</p>

<p>Ahmad police said, killed his ex-wife and then turned the gun on himself as police arrived at the scene. <br>Officers reported hearing a single gunshot and a &#8216;verbal groan&#8217; when they knocked on her condominium door in Chicago last Monday. <br>They rushed to the scene after his family in Atlanta, Georgia, reported him missing and local police requested a well-being check on him. ;<br>When they entered, the officers found the unresponsive woman near the door with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and blood on her face that had already dried. <br>Ahmad was found in the bedroom with a shot in the head, according to ;<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2022/7/19/23270257/georgia-man-fatally-shot-wife-streeterville-condo-killed-himself-as-cops-arrived-police-reports" target="_blank">Chicago Sun Times</a>. He was allegedly holding a 9mm Glock handgun and a suicide note was found nearby. <br>Khan, who posted videos on TikTok speaking openly about her divorce in a bid to help others in her position, was pronounced dead at the scene.</p>

<p>The shooter was rushed to ;Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he later died. <br>The medical examiner&#8217;s office listed Khan&#8217;s death as a homicide, and Ahmad&#8217;s was ruled suicide. ;<br>Friends of the woman said that she and Ahmad split last winter, and divorced in May this year. ;<br>Grant, a friend of Khan&#8217;s from high school, wrote on social media: &#8216;You were stepping into the next chapter of your life when you left us, and I hope that wherever you are this next chapter brings you the happiness and success you were always wanting.&#8217; <br>The photographer, who specialized in capturing &#8216;life&#8217;s most precious moment&#8217;s at weddings, moved to Chicago last year after growing up in ;Chattanooga, Tennessee. <br>Hundreds of tributes have been paid to her under her TikTok videos following the tragic news.<br>One person wrote: &#8216;I hope you find the peace you searched for in the next life.&#8217; While another added: &#8216;You deserved to live your new life in peace. I’m so sorry you’re gone, your light is missed.&#8217;</p>
