The Georgia mom who sent her daughter a chilling text message before being found dead in a ravine was naked and had signs of burns on her body.
Investigators are treating the death of realty front office manager Debbie Collier as a homicide, rather than a suicide.
Collier, 59, was found in a small, steep-sided ravine on September 11 near a wooded area in Tallulah Falls, Georgia, after sending her daughter $2,385 along with a cryptic message on the app Venmo.
Collier’s last known communication was through the Venmo app, sending more than $2,300 to her daughter, according to the incident report.
The payment also included a note that read: ‘They are not going to let me go, love you there is a key to the house in the blue flower pot by the door.’
That Venmo message was sent to her adult daughter, 36-year-old Amanda Bearden, on September 10.
A day later her nude body was found in the woods, 60 miles from her home showing apparent signs or torture.

Collier sent her daughter Amanda Bearden, {photo], Venmo message: ‘They are not going to let me go, love you there is a key to the house in the blue flower pot by the door,’

Bearden tried to call her mother after receiving the cryptic text, however, she didn’t answer the cell phone.
It was then that the daughter reported her mother as missing to Athens Clarke County Police.
Before the remains were discovered, Bearden, who had been given an approximate location of the vehicle by Athens-Clarke County police, arrived on scene “in a hysterical state,” according to police documents. She told investigators her mother did not suffer from any known mental health issues or “suicidal tendencies.”

Cops have said that the disturbing statement Collier sent to her daughter may suggest that there was a violent kidnapping involved before she was found dead.
Habersham County Sheriff’s Office Col. Murray Kogod said: ‘Further search resulted in locating the body of a female subject down an embankment close to where the bag and tarp were located.’
Detectives investigating the case discovered that the dead woman had rented an SUV on September 10 and left her home with just her debit card and driver’s license.
They were able to track the location of the car because of its Sirius XM satellite radio.
Local authorities in Habersham County searched the woods after a radio satellite service tipped them off that a van Collier had rented was in the area – leading them 60 miles north of her home in Athens, Georgia.
The black Chrysler Pacifica was found parked on the side of the highway within plain sight of passing cars.

Collier’s body was then found in a nearby ravine off of the highway where the vehicle was discovered on US 441 near Victory Home Lane.
Officers and a K-9 unit found a red tote bag about a quarter-mile from the vehicle and “what appeared to be the remains of a fire” nearby.
Downhill from the scene, investigators found a blue tarp with burn marks, and “a nude female laying on her back, grasping a small tree with her right hand,” according to the incident report.
She was “obviously deceased,” and investigators quickly identified her as the Debbie Collier, the woman reported missing by her daughter.

Her remains were “apparently burned with what appeared to be charring to her abdomen.”
The Habersham County Coroner’s Office transferred Collier’s remains to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Lab for an autopsy, and GBI was also sent “various items of possible evidence” for enhanced analysis.
