<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The girlfriend of the would-be assassin who attempted to murder Argentina&#8217;s Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was so upset he failed to carry out the assassination, that she vowed to kill the VP herself, text messages reveal.<br>A string of messages accessed by state news agency Téleam reveals 23-year-old Brenda Uliarte was livid after her Brazilian partner, Fernando Sabag, 35, held his gun inches from Fernández&#8217;s face and pressed the trigger before it got jammed, giving the politician&#8217;s followers time to smother him outside her Buenos Aires home, on September 1. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8216;Next time I go and pull the trigger, &#8220;Nando&#8221; failed,&#8217; Uliarte wrote in a text sent to confederate Nicolás Carrizo the day after the botched assassination.<br>&#8216;I do know how to shoot well, my hand does not shake,&#8217; Uliarte continued before Carrizo asked, &#8216;Do you want do it?&#8217;<br>Uliarte replied, &#8216;I swear I do. And the shot will not miss. But you have to think about it. It happens that Nando doesn&#8217;t have much practice. He got nervous.&#8217;<br>Bystanders on their cameras captured the moment the man points his gun at the face of VP Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Fortunately for the politician, the loaded weapon got jammed after Sabag pulled the trigger.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The text addressee, Nicolas Carrizo, was identified by authorities as the leader of a group of street vendors, including the couple, that sold cotton candy. Carrizo is one of four people who have been arrested in connection to botched assassination. ;<br>The text message exchange is part of a trove of messages that authorities have found in Carrizo&#8217;s cellphone, which was seized during a series of raids that were conducted.<br>Carrizo was taken into custody September 5 after he visited a courthouse to retrieve his phone.<br>Worried that Uliarte would be arrested, Carrizo invited her to hideout at a home where he and the other vendors were staying.<br>&#8216;They linked you to the case,&#8217; Carrizo wrote. &#8216;I would tell you to come here.&#8217;<br>However, Uliarte assured him that there was no need to worry.<br>&#8216;Who knows my information? I am in a safe place, relax,&#8217; she wrote. <br>&#8216;You guys have nothing to do with it. What we say stays here.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Nicolás Carrizo received a text message from Brenda Uliarte hours after her boyfriend, Fernando Sabag, tried to kill the vice president outside her home in the capital i the first week of September.<br>In the texts Uliarte told Carrizo that she was willing to kill Fernández. Additional text messages revealed that the plan to murder Fernández was supposed to take place a week after Sabag&#8217;s botched attempt. Carrizo was taken into custody but has not been charged.<br>Nevertheless, Carrizo knew Uliarte was in trouble after seeing her image on television.<br>&#8216;You&#8217;re on all the news outlets. You&#8217;re the girlfriend,&#8217; he said. <br>Uliarte played down the reports, telling Carrizo, &#8216;Yes, but if I hide nothing will happen. They are not going to find me. I know what I am telling you.&#8217; <br>Infact, Carrizo texted his stepsister after the attempt on Vice President Fernández&#8217;s life and told her, &#8216;This was planned for a week from now. He [Sabag], did everything wrong. He&#8217;s a jerk.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Uliarte, Carrizo and the several other street vendors were interviewed by Telefe the day after Sabag nearly assassinated Vice President Fernández and told the television station that they didn&#8217;t have anything to do with Sabag&#8217;s actions.<br>&#8216;We are not complicit in what happened. They threatened her (Uliarte) with death,&#8217; Carrizo said on live television. <br>&#8216;They threaten us all the time. They tell us that we are a terrorist group.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Carrizo added that they were also called &#8216;Nazis&#8217; because of the large a tattoo of a large black sun on Sabag&#8217;s elbow, a symbol originally used by Nazi Germany and later by neo-Nazis and is associated with Nazi occultism.<br>Both Sabag and Uliarte have been charged with attempted aggravated murder with the use of weapons, treachery and premeditated concurrence of two or more people.<br>Federal judge Maria Capuchetti, who has been in charge of reviewing evidence, may send the case to trial in the coming days as Sabag and Uliarte waived their right to appeal the proceedings.<br>Carrizo and a fourth suspect, Agustina Díaz, 21, who is also under arrest, have yet to be charged.<br>Díaz&#8217;s name was saved in Uliarte&#8217;s phone as &#8216;the love of my life.&#8217; ;<br>On July 4, she texted Agustina Díaz, who is also under arrest, and told her, &#8216;I am going with the gun and I am going to shoot Cristi.&#8217; ;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Additional text messages also show that Carrizo was worried that Sabag had used a gun that he owned. <br>Instead, Sabag used a Bersa .32 caliber that was loaded with five bullets and miraculously didn&#8217;t go off when he pulled the trigger.<br>Fernández da Kirchner, who served as president from 2007 to 2015 and was previously the first lady to her president husband Néstor Kirchner from 2003 to 2007<br>Currently she is in the middle of a corruption trial and was returning home from court when the attempt was made on her life. </p>
