<br>They were also ordered to post public apologies to Gov&period; Abdullahi Ganduje on social media&period;<br>Their defense attorney&comma; Bashir Yusuf&comma; told the BBC they would not challenge the judgement&comma; given it was a &&num;8221&semi;non-custodial&&num;8221&semi; sentence &&num;8211&semi; meaning those convicted would not be jailed&period; <br>Nigeria has seen a rapid increase in TikTok users in recent years&comma; particularly among young people&period;<br>These users sometimes mock public figures&comma; including government officials&comma; by clipping images or videos&comma; often to create comedies that attract massive followers to their accounts&period;<br>APC controlled Kano State is one of a dozen states out of the 36 states in the country that instituted the Sharia legal system alongside the country&&num;8217&semi;s secular laws&comma; since 1999&period; With all of them in the Muslim-dominated nothern regions of Nigeria&period; <br>Sharia is body of law based on the &&num;8216&semi;precepts of Islam and is based on the sacred scriptures of Islam&comma; particularly the Quran&&num;8217&semi;&period; In Nigeria only Muslims can be tried in Sharia courts&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
