<p>A Fresno woman and her three-week-old baby daughter were killed by her older sister and gangster boyfriend out of pure &#8216;jealousy&#8217; and &#8216;sibling rivalry,&#8217; police said.<br>Yarelly Solorio-Rivera, 22, has been arrested over the cold-blooded shooting deaths of her 18-year-old sister, Yanelly Solorio-Rivera, and her infant daughter Celine, who was just 21 days old at the time of her death.<br>Yarelly&#8217;s boyfriend, Martin Arroyo-Morales, 26, a known gang member, has also been arrested over the September 24, killings.<br>Fresno Police have charged both with two counts of pre-meditated murder.</p>

<p>Addressing the reprehensible nature of the crime, &#8216;We have the murder weapon, a Smith &; Wesson 9mm handgun, and we have a motive — jealousy and sibling rivalry,&#8217; Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama said during a press conference. <br>&#8216;We saw no remorse whatever, no guilt.&#8217;<br>Officers were called to a home at around 7:20am on the day of the murders after neighbors heard several gunshots coming from a bedroom in the house.<br>&#8216;The scene was traumatic for all officers, detectives, EMS personnel, and crime scene technicians who responded to the scene, &#8216;Chief Balderrama said.</p>

<p>When police arrived on the scene, Yanelly Solorio-Rivera and her child were already dead. The pair were found in bed with her baby still in her arms. ;<br>Solorio-Rivera had been shot several times. ;<br>Chief Balderrama said that the new mother was asleep while holding her infant daughter and that they had been shot in a &#8216;premeditated and intricately planned&#8217; killing. ;<br>&#8216;The crime left us all feeling perplexed and very angry, asking ourselves, who would do something like this – who would murder an 18-year-old mother and her three-week-old daughter while they slept?&#8217;<br>In the month following the shooting, officials said they were not able to find any solid leads to help identify suspects, but had suspicions that Yarelly and Morales were possibly involved. ;<br>Investigators took almost seven weeks before making the arrests on Thursday despite having suspicions as to who committed the heinous acts early on. ;</p>

<p>The chief explained that officers needed to gather enough evidence before making any arrests. ;<br>A big break in the case came last week after investigators positively identified Arroyo-Morales in surveillance footage in the area around the home where Yanelly and Celine were killed. ;<br>&#8216;That is when the lies, the deception, and evil intentions surrounding this case began to unravel,&#8217; explained Balderrama. ;<br>Upon further investigation, investigators zeroed in on Yarelly Solorio-Rivera and her boyfriend Martin Arroyo-Morales, who after interrogation confessed to the killings.<br>&#8216;The last few days, they were detained. They were interviewed by homicide detectives, and at which time they confessed to the crime, and led detectives to the whereabouts of the murder weapon.</p>

<p>&#8216;This was an intricate and well-planned murder,&#8217; Balderrama said. &#8216;We can now say with complete certainty that we have those responsible for this homicide in custody.&#8217;<br>Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail where they are being held on $2 million bond. <br>If convicted, the pair may face the death penalty or life in jail without parole.<br>&#8216;There&#8217;s nothing that tugs at the hearts and souls of people who wear badges than the death of young people. But when there&#8217;s babies involved, it hits nerves and those of us involved in this business. We don&#8217;t sleep. We don&#8217;t rest,&#8217; Fresno County District Attorney Lisa A.
