<p>Video footage captured the horrifying abduction scene at Mexican border town on Friday. Four Americans were marched into the flatbed of a pickup truck after they were shot at and kidnapped by a band of kidnappers in Mexico.<br>The victims, whose names have not been released, were attacked by a group of gunmen moments after they had driven into the border city of Matamoros on Friday.<br>The FBI said the group entered Matamoros through Brownsville, Texas. <br>They party had traveled in a white minivan with North Carolina license plates, and were there to buy medicine ended up caught in the crossfire between two armed groups, according to Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.</p>

<p>U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ken Salazar said in a statement Monday that an &#8216;innocent&#8217; Mexican citizen died in the attack.<br>He did not offer any additional details, but said various U.S. justice agencies were working with their Mexican counterparts to recover the missing U.S. citizens.<br>The video shows one of the gunmen escorting a woman to the pickup truck and forcing her to sit on the flatbed. Meanwhile, his companion is also seen dragging a man across the pavement before two other male victims are dumped in the vehicle.</p>

<p>The white minivan from North Carolina conveying four Americans came under fire from a group of gunmen Friday after crossing into the Mexican border town of Matamoros. <br>When the vehicle stopped, the occupants were kidnapped, according to the FBI.<br>The victims according to feds, were caught in the middle of a gunfight between rival criminal organizations in the Mexican northern border town after they crossed over from Brownsville, Texas, to purchase medicine. </p>

<p>The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of four US citizens, three men and a woman, kidnapped on Friday, after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle, moments after they drove into the Mexican border city of Matamoros. The group had gone into Mexico to purchase medicine. <br>The vehicle came under fire shortly after entering Mexican territory, according to an investigation being done by the San Antonio FBI office.<br>FBI sources said &#8216;All four Americans were placed in a vehicle and taken from the scene by armed men.&#8217; Feds are offering a $50,000 reward for the return of the victims and the apprehension of the culprits.</p>

<p>The country has 32 states. Matamoros is known to be a territory occupied in part by battling factions of the Gulf Cartel. <br>Shootouts between gangs in Matamoros have become so treacherous that the U.S. Consulate issued a warning about the danger on Friday.<br>Tamaulipas state police said people had been killed and injured Friday, but did not say how many. <br>Matamoros is located in one of the six Mexican states the U.S. Department of State currently has listed under its most severe &#8216;do not travel&#8217; category, due to local cartels that may rob and/or kidnap American tourists. <br>The other states listed in the State Dept advisories include the states of Sinaloa, Zacatecas, Colima, Guerrero and Michoacan. <br></p>
