<p class="wp-block-paragraph">An unrepentant married Green Bay woman who killed and dismembered her ex-boyfriend in a meth-fueled attack last year February has been sentenced to life without parole for the gruesome slaying.<br>Taylor Schabusiness, 25, appeared to smile beneath a large white spit mask as she appeared in Brown County Circuit Court in a prison-issued orange jumpsuit with handcuffs around her wrists.<br>Judge Thomas Walsh handed her the life sentence for the murder of Shad Thyrion, 24, who she choked with a chain in February 2022 before beheading him and chopping up his body.<br>She was found guilty of homicide, third-degree sexual abuse and mutilating corpse in July. <br>On Tuesday Judge Walsh ruled that Schabusiness, who laughed and smiled throughout her murder trial as she bragged about the disturbing details of the macabre slaying, was a risk to the public and sent her to prison for life without extended supervision for murder.<br>&#8216;The public needs protection.&#8217; <br> &#8216;This crime offends human decency; it offends human dignity; and it offends the human community,&#8217; Judge Walsh told Schabusiness at sentencing.<br>She got an additional ten and a half years for mutilation of a corpse and sexual assault. <br>Schabusiness refused to address the court, and repeatedly shook her head and pulled faces as the judge described her heinous crimes. <br>The victim&#8217;s enraged uncle, Kelly Thyrion, in his victim&#8217;s impact statement addressed urged Judge Walsh him to refuse her parole.<br>&#8216;After Judge Walsh sentences you today, I will pray that you meet the same fate as your idol Jeffrey Dahmer,&#8217; he said. &#8216;So have a great life S***business&#8217;.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Schabusiness who is from Green Bay, Wisconsin like her victim, laughed at footage of herself talking about how she choked Thyrion with a chain as they had sex before mutilating his corpse, sequel to her conviction for homicide, third-degree sexual abuse and mutilation of corpse in July. <br>She killed Thyrion in his mother&#8217;s basement, telling the court that she &#8216;liked&#8217; the killing and enjoyed cutting her lover&#8217;s head off.<br>&#8216;I was sucking and cutting at the same time,&#8217; Schabusiness said in the video. &#8216;I liked it. I didn&#8217;t know what to do.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Her grandmother, Esther Coronado, issued a plea in court that Schabusiness should be given parole and extended supervision before being sentenced by Judge Thomas Walsh. <br>&#8216;I know that she committed a crime and they want her to pay for it,&#8217; Coronado told the hearing. <br>&#8216;But I believe she should have the opportunity to come back to society one time and be with her son.&#8217;<br>The Brown County jury deliberated less than an hour before convicting Schabusiness, who scattered his body parts at the home he shared with his mother and in a vehicle.<br>At a pre-trial hearing, a jury had ruled that the accused was responsible for the murder of Thyrion and was not suffering from mental illness at the time of the incident.<br>Her father told the jury during the trial that her mother died in her sleep, and the death took a toll on everyone in the family, with a psychology&#8217;s claiming that she was not competent to stand trial.<br>Defense expert witness, Dr Diane Lytton added that she felt Schabusiness was psychotic and had visual and auditory hallucinations.<br>The jury disagreed and ruled that she should be sent to prison instead of a secure facility.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Thyrion&#8217;s severed head and penis were found by his mother, Tara Pakanich, and her boyfriend, Steve Hendricks, in a bucket in the basement of her home.<br>Other body parts were found in various bags in the basement as officers searched the property, including plastic shopping bags.<br>His upper torso was found in a storage tote along with a carving knife and several internal organs, with Schabusiness telling cops that she had planned to take the body parts with her.<br>Hendricks called 911 and told the dispatcher that his girlfriend &#8216;swears that she found the severed head of her son in the basement.&#8217;<br>Body cam footage that was shown in court during the trial showed Pakanich telling police something about a &#8216;severed head&#8217; and pointed to the basement of their home.<br>&#8216;I opened the towel,&#8217; Hendricks is heard telling police. &#8216;I picked up the towel and dropped it because I don&#8217;t know what the f*** it is, man. I have bad vision, and she&#8217;s like: &#8216;Is that what I think it is?&#8217; I don&#8217;t f****** know.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Schabusiness said she &#8216;got lazy&#8217; after dismembering her lover and intended to take his body parts with her in her minivan.<br>However, she claims that she was ill-prepared to dispose of the corpse because the murder was random and not planned.<br>Arriving on the scene, Green Bay Police Officer Alex Wanish reported how he had &#8216;observed the plastic bucket on the floor&#8230;[with] a shower/beach towel over the bucket.&#8217; <br>The officer &#8216;lifted the towel and observed a human head inside the bucket,&#8217; and also noted &#8216;what appeared to be dried blood on a nearby mattress.&#8217;<br>Officers found Schabusiness, still covered in blood moments later, with scratches on her arm and a cut on her left thumb from the knife she used to dismember Thyrion.<br>Schabusiness, who is married to a convicted felon and recently became a mother to a son, admitted that she and Thyrion had been doing drugs &#8211; including smoking methamphetamine &#8211; earlier in the day.<br>She told officers in an interview that she had injected herself and Thyrion with Trazodone, a powerful sedative.</p>

I can&#8217;t believe I left the head, though.&#8217;<br>According to the complaint filing, she then told officers they were &#8216;going to have fun trying to find all of the organs as she had dismembered the body.&#8217;</p>

Among the bizarre revelations at trial was when Brown County District Attorney David Lasee who called the case &#8216;bizarre&#8217;, told the jury that Schabusiness also had sex with the corpse.<br>In February, Schabusiness attacked her previous defense counsel, Wisconsin attorney Quinn Jolly, during a hearing before a deputy wrestled her to the courtroom floor and she was escorted back to jail.
