<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Brooklyn man who went on the run after shooting dead his two neighbors over a noise complaint has been killed by police after he lunged at them with a knife.<br>The suspect former state corrections officer Jason Pass, was caught on surveillance cameras shooting his neighbors Bladimy Mathurin, 47, and his stepson Chinwai Mode, 27, on the landing of their Brooklyn apartment building on Sunday October 29, during an altercation over a noise complaint. <br>Mathurin and his family lived in the apartment above Pass and the neighbors had been feuding for four years over noise pollution. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The suspected gunman Jason Pass, 47, remained on the run until he was spotted driving down a Bath Beach, Brooklyn, street on Wednesday morning.<br>Police officers were called to the scene before 8am. Fugitive murder suspect Jason Pass &#8216;was stopped in his vehicle and lunged at police with a knife.&#8217;<br>The Pass was shot &#8216;once in the leg, twice in the chest and in the jaw,&#8217; according to the source.<br>The former state corrections officer, was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.<br>Pass reportedly, has a history with firearms. According to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, the gunman had a short-lived career as a corrections officer at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Westchester, that ended in 2005. He was fired from the department in June 2005, the same month after he pulled a gun on two plainclothes police officers in a road rage incident in Brooklyn.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The shooting happened on the fourth floor of a well-known housing complex in East Flatbush, where Barbra Streisand and late The Wire star Michael K. Williams grew up.<br>recording of the incident begins with events leading to the shooting. <br>The footage opens with Jason Pass dressed in black, angrily pacing the hallway outside of an apartment. As the man paces, a woman in sweatpants and a tank-top, later identified as his upstairs neighbor<strong> </strong>Marie Delille, emerges from an apartment leading to a confrontation.<br>The woman is quickly joined by a man, subsequently identified by police as her adult son Chinwai Mode, 27. As the situation appears escalates, the mother and son are then joined by the woman&#8217;s husband Bladimy Mathurin, who angrily confronts the neighbor while appearing to wield a pair of scissors.<br>His wife attempts to turn him away from the confrontation, but Mathurin &#8211; reportedly an amateur bodybuilder and father of four &#8211; pushes her away.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The neighbor then pulls a gun from his jacket, which he instantly aims at Mathurin.<br>Despite seemingly acknowledging the gun, Mathurin dismisses it and turns to walk back toward his door. The neighbor, allegedly Pass, then begins to fire, striking Mathurin who immediately falls to the ground.<br>The stepson, who was in the hallway and saw Mathurin go down, attempts to run from the shooter but is unsuccessful and is shot multiple times before collapsing, motionless, in a pool of his own blood near the staircase.<br>Pass then allegedly focuses his attention back on Mathurin, who was struggling to get up at that moment. He shoots him execution-style just outside his door.<br>The man, allegedly having slaughtered two people, looks around the bloody hallway and then calmly waits 20 seconds for the elevator to arrive, which he takes downstairs before fleeing the scene.<br>Nine bullet casings were recovered from the scene.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The day before the shooting, Pass had reportedly been banging on his ceiling because of the allegedly loud noises stemming from Mathurin and Delille&#8217;s apartment.<br>Mathurin responded by banging back, which prompted the neighbor to bound up the stairs and kick the family&#8217;s front door, according to the grieving widow.<br>&#8216;This man hates us with every bone in his body,&#8217; said Delille.<br>A woman who claimed to be the alleged shooter&#8217;s older sister said that Mathurin and his family had threatened her mom and brother prior to the incident.<br>&#8216;What happened on Sunday was self-defense. (They screamed) &#8220;We’re gonna kill you! We hate you!&#8221; on numerous occasions. As we’re walking out and they’re coming in or as they’re getting in their vehicle, those are things they’ve said to us&#8217;, she said.<br>&#8216;They tried to attack my sibling,&#8217; the sister said. &#8216;My brother just didn’t go upstairs just to kill them. We are not problematic people.&#8217;<br>She claims that Pass had gone upstairs to talk to the family about the noise and did not attack first.<br>The NYPD said Pass had called 311 six times since March 2022 on his upstairs neighbors to complain. Delille revealed that this feud had been going on for four years.<br>CBS also revealed numerous complaints had been registered with the building management, but neither party could reach a common ground.<br>Marie Delille, Bladimy Mathurin&#8217;s widow told CBS that her husband was not armed with a gun at the time of the altercation.<br>Delille said: &#8216;My husband had no gun, no weapon. Why did you bring a gun to shoot my family? Why would you bring a gun to tear my family apart? Why? Why?<br>&#8216;I need justice to be served.&#8217;</p>
