<p>Read&#8217;s defense team has claimed that O’Keefe was killed in a fight at the home of his friend Brian Albert, further claiming that evidence has been fumbled or doctored to make her look guilty.<br>The highlight of the day was the testimony of prosecution witness Allison McCabe.<br>This particular witness, a college student, is the daughter of Jennifer McCabe, who the court heard was with Karen Read and a third woman when they discovered O’Keefe’s body in the snowy driveway of Brian Albert’s home around 6 a.m. on January 29, 2022.<br>Read’s attorneys claimed Jennifer McCabe played a key role in the alleged cover-up, which she has denied.<br>Allison McCabe gave tear-filled testimony to the court, coming to the defense of Colin Albert, then an 18-year-old high school senior, is one of the men Read’s legal team claims was involved in the fight at Brian Albert’s home that resulted in O’Keefe’s death.</p>

<p>Colin Albert, now a 20-year-old college student, was celebrating his cousin, Brian Jr.’s birthday at the house on Fairview Road, which was owned by Albert’s aunt and uncle, Brian and Nicole Albert.<br>Related by marriage, though not by blood, Allison McCabe provided testimony to alibi Colin Albert<br>She told the court that she had picked up Albert and drove him home on the night O’Keefe’s died, that he was not at Brian Albert’s home during the alleged fight &#8211; contrary to the claim of the defense.<br>This witness broke down on the stand, explaining that Colin Albert has faced ruthless “harassment” by “bloggers, people online” over the accusation.</p>

<p>As the court broke for recess after Allison McCabe’s testimony, Read conferred with her counsel.<br>Read rolled her eyes, snapped her head back, and aggressively muttered something to her lawyer.<br>On cross examination, the defense presented Allie with data from a tracking app her family used which showed she went back to the area of Canton High School after bringing Colin home, rather than immediately going to sleep, as she testified.</p>

He testified that he left Brian Albert’s home about 30 seconds after Allison McCabe texted him. To most questions on cross, he responded &#8216;I don&#8217;t remember&#8217;</strong></p>



<p>Following the break, the court was shown text messages between Colin Albert and Allison McCabe from the night of Jan. 28-29, 2022, in which he asks her to pick him up. <br>At 11:45 p.m., he texted her “U can get me now. If easier,” to which she replied minutes later, “ok I am driving ppl home now.”<br>Colin Albert replied, “Word” followed by “Get me after.” <br>At 12:10 a.m. Jan. 29, 2022, Allison McCabe messaged him, “Here,” and Colin Albert replied, “Ok.”<br>Following the messages, Colin Albert took the stand, where he told the court he left Brian Albert’s home about 30 seconds after Allison McCabe texted him.</p>

<p>O’Keefe was found unconscious in a snowbank with skull fractures, swollen eyes and hypothermia on the morning of on January 29, 2022, outside a home in Canton, Massachusetts. The suburb is located 14 miles south of Boston.<br>He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, where he was pronounced dead, with an autopsy later showing he died from hypothermia and head trauma.<br>Colin Albert on the stand, told the court that he never saw O’Keefe that night. He left the party at the home just as his aunt and uncle were getting home from their own celebration with friends at the Waterfall Bar &; Grille in Canton. <br>He got in Allie’s car and left. <br>He claims he never saw O’Keefe enter the home, a account confirmed by Allison when she testified that she drove Colin back to his home.<br>However, as testimony continued, the defense introduced a photo of Colin Albert a group of friends taken on Feb. 26, 2022 at Fenway Johnnies, a bar in Boston less than a month after O’Keefe died.<br>The photo showed bruises on Colin’s right knuckles, to which he countered that he got the bruises when he slipped on an icy driveway and injured his hand sliding down the driveway. <br>To most of the questions during his cross-examination, Colin Albert responded that he could not remember. When defense attorney Alan Jackson asked if he was coached to say “I don’t remember” every time he is nervous or does not want to answer a question. <br>Colin responded, “No.”</p>
