<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A Texas man is facing charges of bigamy after his wife, scrolling through Facebook and made the discovery that he was married to other woman, turned him in to authorities. <br>Marcus Andra Shorten, 53, is currently married to two or more women.<br>A wedding photo appears to show Shorten and a woman with a wedding party at a Marriage Registr,y earlier in the year.<br>The subject&#8217;s scorned third wife, Tammie, who chose not to show her face, told police she uncovered her spouse&#8217;s alleged crimes on social media. However, by Tammie&#8217;s account the ceremony happened after said she confronted her estranged husband with the fact she knew about his upcoming wedding.<br>Allegedly, she reminded him they were still wed, but he went through with the bigamous nuptials anyway.<br>According to the now-uncovered registry marriage certificate, Shorten and his latest wife got married in January. </p>

Tammie was his third wife.<br>In an interview, she claimed the pair never formally divorced because Shorten feared being viewed as a &#8216;failure.&#8217;<br>The photograph it would appear, points to a wedding ceremony that took place earlier this year. <br>That woman&#8217;s name remains has not been revealed, but there is no indication she was aware of Shorten&#8217;s marriage bunny hopping. <br>Shorten is currently charged with bigamy and Houston police confirmed they are now searching for him, after finding two marriage licenses but no divorce decrees. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The acts of Bigamy and polygamy s defined as the act of going through a marriage ceremony with one person while legally wed to another, are considered crimes, and the Texas Bigamy law which also gives authorities the right to arrest one they believe wed someone while still married to someone else. <br>However, bigamy is a third degree felony that carries a maximum sentence of ten years in most states, including Texas.<br>In addition, under the state law Shorten could face a fine of up up to $10,000.</p>
