<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Armed police have found the man suspected of the crossbow murders of the wife and two daughters of BBC racing commentator John Hunt.<br>Officers and paramedics had rushed to a cemetery in Enfield, north London, following a huge manhunt that lasted most of Wednesday for Kyle Clifford, 26. <br>The suspect was found in the Enfield area and was treated for injuries, police said. Hertfordshire Police said their officers did not fire any shots.<br>Clifford, who left the British Army in 2022 following a brief period of service, was wanted over the deaths of Carol Hunt, 61, and the couple’s two daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25. <br>Clifford reportedly, was the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims, Hunt&#8217;s younger daughter.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The three women were found with serious injuries after officers were called to a property in Bushey on Tuesday evening. Responding police officers arrived at Ashlyn Close, Bushey, just before 7pm on Tuesday after neighbors heard screams in the quiet cul-de-sac.<br>Inside, they found three seriously injured women. Eventually the three family members were pronounced dead at the scene.<br>During the manhunt, the force said they believed Clifford may have been armed with a crossbow and warned the public not to approach him.<br>Home secretary Yvette Cooper said she was being kept fully updated about the “truly shocking” deaths.<br>A Home Office spokeswoman said Ms Cooper would consider the findings of a call for evidence on crossbows to see whether laws need to be tightened further.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Police found Kyle Clifford, 26, in the Enfield area of north London late on Wednesday after a hunt lasting most of the day. <br>On Wednesday police announced that they found the suspect wanted over the killings of Carol Hunt and her daughters, stating that the “man wanted in connection with a triple murder in Bushey had been traced to a location in North London”.<br>Following an extensive search, Kyle Clifford was found in the Enfield area by officers Wednesday afternoon and was reported to be “receiving medical treatment having been found with injuries. No shots were fired by police.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Husband and father of the victims, 20-year BBC veteran sportscaster John Hunt, had been working been at Lingfield Park Racecourse in Surrey on Tuesday before returning home in the evening to the tragedy that had befallen his family, the <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07/10/three-women-murdered-hertfordshire-manhunt-kyle-clifford1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Telegraph</a> reported.<br>Footage from Tuesday appears to show a fugitive fleeing a home with a 3ft crossbow after allegedly killing a BBC star&#8217;s wife and her two daughters.<br>The clip shows a man carrying the “huge” object under his right arm under a sheet as he strides from an alleyway leading to the home in Bushey, Hertfordshire.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the clip &#8211; the man believed to be Kyle Clifford &#8211; climbs into the black car and waits for 18 seconds before driving away West-bound on Bushey Grove Road towards.<br>The road is directly connected to the murder scene on Ashlyn Close by a pedestrian footpath.<br>The black Seat from the footage is believed to form part of the ongoing investigation.<br><a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/where/hertfordshire/">Hertfordshire Police</a> said: &#8220;A vehicle has been located and is being investigated.&#8221;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Family friends revealed that 28-year-old Hannah worked as a beautician while her younger sister Louise, 25, was a dog groomer.<br>Simon and Tracey Bowler, neighbors in the quiet residential area, who have children who are similar ages to the victims, spoke of how “emotional”, overwhelming” and “really sad” it was to hear of the family&#8217;s tragedy.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reacting to the murders, a British Home Office spokeswoman said: “We keep legislation under constant review and a call for evidence was launched earlier this year to look at whether further controls on crossbows should be introduced.<br>“The home secretary will swiftly consider the findings to see if laws need to be tightened further.”<br>The previous government had explored, before abandoning the introduction of firearms licensing rules in the wake of a threat to kill late Queen Elizabeth.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Clifford is from the Enfield area of London. <br>Hertfordshire Constabulary hunted overnight for the suspect. Detectives also issued a direct plea to Clifford to turn himself in to police on Wednesday, warning members of the public not to approach the armed suspect, considered dangerous, instead they were advised to contact police.<br>Clifford, who is said to be known to the Hunt family having dated one of the girls, left the British Army in 2022 following a brief period of service. It is understood that he had been working in private security after leaving the army.<br>One of his former army commanders described Clifford as “immature for his age,&#8221; with &#8220;a bit of a chip on his shoulder”. </p>
