<p>A group of white farmers have been charged with shooting two black women foraging for discarded, expired food products on a farm outside Polokwane, in South Africa&#8217;s Limpopo Province. The three men then turned the bodies into pigswill. <br>A man who accompanied the women escaped with several gunshot injuries, and has been hospitalized, police said.<br>The three white farmers accused in the shooting deaths of two black women whose bodies were disposed in a heinous manner, appeared briefly in the Mankweng magistrate’s court on Friday. The case was adjourned to August 30, for a formal bail application hearing while the three suspects were remanded in custody.</p>

<p>The Onvervaght farm is located near Sebayeng, outside Polokwane in Limpopo Province.<br>Zachariah Johannes Olivier, 60, the farm owner and his farm hand, Andrian Rudolph De Wet, 19, , appeared in court facing two counts of murder, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, as well as defeating the ends of justice. <br>A third defendant, William Musora, 45, a farm hand from Zimbabwean is charged as as accomplice.<br>Musora was not was not present at the shooting. He discovered the bodies the next day and reported to De Wet. He is facing an additional charge of being in the country illegally.<br>Limpopo police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba said after they were alerted about Mariah Makgato who disappeared after visiting the farm on Saturday, on August 17. <br>“A search of the farm revealed the body of the missing woman and another body of a 35-year-old foreign woman in an advanced stage of decomposition,&#8221; Ledwaba said.<br>Mariah Makgato, 47, along with Zimbabwean national Kudzai Ndlovu, 34, and her husband, Mabutho Ndlovu, 44, went to Onvervaght farm &#8211; to harvest scavenge expired products, usually dumped by a dairy merchant at the farm.</p>

<p>The trio reportedly, were accosted by Oliver, De Wet and Musora. The trio allegedly shot at the three black people, killing the two women and severely injuring the man. The bodies were then disposed in the most gruesome and inhumane manner imaginable &#8211; they were fed to swine.<br>While the women were still fighting for their lives, Nkube the man with the two women though shot several times, managed to escape. He is receiving medical treatment in hospital.<br>According to the National Prosecuting Authority, [NPA], the killers did not report the incident, but the crime came to light on August 20, when police received information. <br>The alleged killers were arrested the following day.</p>

<p>One of Makgato&#8217;s four sons, worried that his mother never came home after visiting the farm, filed a missing persons report. The search of the last place the victims visited turned up the remains in a pigpen.<br>The provincial prosecutors office said: “It is alleged that on August 17, the deceased women and the injured man went to a farm under Sebayeng policing area. They went there to collect expired yogurt and other perished dairy products. <br>&#8220;These are usually dumped by a truck believed to be from a dairy retailer”.<br>The farmers did not take kindly to the presence of the unwanted visitors on the farm. It is understood that Oliver and De Wet, with the intention of kill the three, fired several live ammunition at the victims. <br>After shooting the interlopers, Olivier and his accomplices allegedly tossed, the women into a pigsty.<br>An eyewitness said they were thrown in the enclosure with about 50 pigs, and the animals wasted no time mauling them.<br>The decomposing bodies were found with open wounds on their upper torsos.<br>“After their families could not locate their whereabouts, the police were alerted. Their tip-offs led them to the farm. Police discovered the bodies of the women at an advanced decomposed state.”<br>Police also report that Olivier crushed and disposed the murder weapon.</p>
