According to the FBI there was an exchange of gunfire between Rosenwasser and agents. <br>Rosenwasser was facing an imminent lawsuit involving $48,000 in bribes he allegedly took, while serving as a prosecutor in Orange County, NY. <br>The recently retired judge has been charged with abusing the authority of his job at the Orange County DA&#8217;s office by accepting $63,000 in bribe payments to investigate and prosecute two individuals who are related to Mout&#8217;z Soudani, the man who allegedly paid the bribes. </p>

Rosenwasser was the prosecutor in the case.<br>The suit, due to be filed by Martin&#8217;s lawyer, alleges that his conviction was the result of the scheme between Rosenwasser and his uncle. <br>His lawyers were seeking post-conviction relief by challenging the legality of the conviction and requesting the judgement be vacated. <br>Within hours of his death, the US District Court in the Southern District of New York unsealed an indictment against the two charging them in a bribery scheme. <br>Prosecutors claim that Rosenwasser accepted even more than $48,000 alleged in the lawsuit &#8211; a total of $63,000. <br>The two men have been charged with conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, and honest services wire fraud. Furthermore, Rosenwasser was also charged with extortion and making false statements to the FBI after he was interviewed in June.<br>Three days after his interview he abruptly quit his job at the District Attorney&#8217;s Office where he had worked for five years. <br>Feds said they are reviewing an agent-involved shooting that occurred earlier this morning in Campbell Hall, NY.</p>
