<p>A Texas father who says his four-month-old twins have been deported along with their mother and siblings in an immigration mix-up, is working to have his young family reunited. <br>On December 9, Federico Arellano Jr said, ICE agents put his wife Christina Salazar, 23, and their four young children on a plane, after missing a hearing with an immigration judge. <br>Arellano Jr. is a US Citizen &#8211; along with three of his four kids, but his Mexican born wife Christina Salazar is a non-citizen. The couple who share four children married in 2019. <br>However, despite being born in Houston in October, the twins were shipped to Mexico with their mother. <br>Their father is fighting to bring them all back, describing it as an ICE misunderstanding. <br>Arellano Jr. said his children were crying as they and Salazar were taken into custody. The distressed mother said her husband not allowed to say goodbye to the twins in the moment and she was unable to call for help after agents had ripped her cell phone away from her hands. </p>

<p>Arrellano Jr, who is a US citizen, said the mother-of-four and her children were arrested and removed from the United States because she missed an immigration court hearing. <br>He had had requested a rescheduling of the court appearance because his wife, a non-citizen, had an emergency C-section to give birth to premature twins in Houston.<br>Last week, though, they were invited to meet with immigration authorities in the Greenspoint area.<br>On arrival, ICE agents arrested Christina Salazar, as well as her four children, including the twins born in September. Mother and children were all put on a plane to McAllen, Texas before being escorted to Reynosa, Mexico.</p>

<p>Salazar recounts agents ripping her cell phone from her hands. They wouldn’t let her call family for help. Instead, they flew her and her children to McAllen. It felt like she was being treated like a criminal, she said.<br>Describing how she and her four children were placed in a room with three female agents, two male agents. They were then they were taken across the border to Reynosa, and left to fend for herself. <br>After more than 23 hours, she was able to call her family and make the journey back to her hometown, Salazar said.<br>The family who believe they were harshly punished for simply missing the hearing, are now seeking reunification, as one of their lawyers stated: &#8216;Because their babies are US citizens, they deserve to be here and get the attention they need &#8211; the medical attention they need.&#8217;<br>The family&#8217;s attorneys said they are trying to get lawmakers involved to have Arellano reunited with his wife and four minor children, three of whom are US citizens.</p>
