<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Authorities in Phoenix, Arizona revealed the identity of the suspect behind the shooting of a prominent Arizona attorney to be his own brother. <br>Christopher Brett Eaves, 49, of Scottsdale was arrested on suspicion of premeditated first-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of his brother, James Arthur &#8216;Artie&#8217; Eaves, 51, on March 21. <br>According court filings Christopher Eaves shot his brother multiple times, then left the scene, only to return later with his parents.<br>James Eaves, a 51-year-old attorney at the high profile phoenix law firm of Sanders &; Parks, was found face-down in the driveway of his Phoenix home around 8 am on Friday, <br>Based on evidence found at the scene and inside Christopher&#8217;s home, authorities believe the suspect shot and killed his older brother.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Christopher is accused of breaking into James&#8217; home on March 21 armed with a handgun. When James arrived home, Christopher shot him multiple times and killed him. Police discovered substantial damage to victim&#8217;s garage door and broken glass from the home&#8217;s patio door along with five shell casings in the driveway and one inside the home.<br>A witness told police he was walking down the street when he heard a &#8216;single gunshot, followed by several additional gunshots.<br>&#8216;Within 30 seconds [of the shots], the witness saw a white BMW SUV vehicle driving northbound,&#8217; according to the statement.<br>&#8216;The witness described the driver as being either bald or short-haired male,&#8217; police said.<br>The witness supplied the tag of the fleeing vehicle, which cops later matched to Christopher&#8217;s BMW.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The possible hunt for the suspect was short lived because officers were executing a search warrant at the crime scene when Christopher arrived in the company of his parents.<br>Detectives retrieved home surveillance video that allegedly showed a BMW backing into the garage door of the home, near Camelback Road and 44th before pulling forward and coming to a stop.<br>Christopher Eaves was seen exiting the vehicle wearing a dark hooded shirt with a logo on the left breast, a patch on the right sleeve and a large graphic on the back.<br>In the footage, he is next seen removing a firearm from the left side of his waistband and start walking towards the home.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Investigators later discovered a hoodie, matching the one seen on the home surveillance video, inside Christopher&#8217;s parent&#8217;s vehicle.<br>A different surveillance video showed James Eaves arriving at his home, noticing the BMW in the driveway before entering the house.<br>Police also found loaded guns inside Christopher’s car, as well as well as weapon believed to be the murder weapon from his home. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Christopher was detained at the scene and now faces a first-degree murder charge. He was also accused of burglary, according to the document.<br>His parents told investigators that their son suffers from mental illness but did not know if he had been officially diagnosed with a mental disorder, however according to the filing, Christopher Eaves was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the alleged crime.<br>During his initial court appearance on March 24, a judge set a cash bond for cold-blooded killer at $1.5 million.<br>When an argumentative Christopher Eaves claimed he was &#8216;never Mirandized&#8217; or read his Miranda rights, the judge noting that some people have a misconception that not being read Miranda rights can do away with charges, educating the suspect that the &#8216;evidence gathered has nothing to do with Miranda.&#8217; <br>The judge then ordered Christopher to have &#8216;no contact&#8217; with his parents because they are victim&#8217;s next of kin.<br>If convicted in the state of Arizona, he faces mandatory lifetime prison sentence or the death penalty. His next court appearance is set for March 27.<br></p>
