<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Four suspects are in custody in relation to the theft, including three thought to have been members of the four-man gang who used a stolen truck with an extendable ladder and freight lift to reach the first-floor window of the museum’s Apollo gallery on October 19. <br>Seven suspects have been arrested since investigations began. Three have been released without charge.<br>On Saturday, prosecutors said a 38-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man living in the Parisien suburb of La Courneuve, Described by Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau as a couple who have children together, was arrested on Oct. 29, ten days after the heist. <br>The man who has a criminal history is believed to have arrived at the Louvre with a lift truck, simulating renovation work to stop the vehicle at the foot of the museum. <br>He has been charged with organized theft and criminal conspiracy, while his partner has been charged with complicity in organized theft and criminal conspiracy with a view to preparing a crime.<br>They couple denied any involvement in last month&#8217;s jewel heist</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Days earlier, police announced the arrested two male suspects, a 34-year-old Algerian with a history of petty crime, who has lived in France since 2010. This suspect was identified by DNA traces found on one of the scooters used to flee the heist. <br>The other suspect, is a 39-year-old Frenchman, an unlicensed taxi driver who was already under judicial supervision for aggravated theft. His DNA reportedly, was found on display cases and other abandoned items at the scene such as gloves, a hi-vis vest, and disc cutters.<br>The two men, both of whom live in the north-eastern Paris suburb of Aubervilliers, are suspected of being the two who broke into the gallery while two accomplices waited outside. Both men who allegedly, have “partially admitted” their involvement, have been charged with theft and criminal conspiracy,<br>The three male suspects now in custody, were known to police for previous convictions, including theft. Two of the suspects had previously been convicted in a theft case together 10 years ago, said Beccuau, who has not ruled out that there could be other accomplices.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In total, four suspects are in custody as part of the investigation, including three believed to be members of the team of four filmed using a cherry picker to reach the museum’s window and gain access.<br>The 39-year-old who was identified as Motocross enthusiast, Abdoulaye N, known online as &#8216;Doudou Cross Bitume,&#8217; was detained at his home in Aubervilliers and placed in pre-trial detention. He faces preliminary charges of theft by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy.<br>Abdoulaye N. runs YouTube and TikTok channels under Doudou Cross Bitume, posting videos of himself performing tricks on motocross in Paris and Aubervilliers. His acquaintances told BFMTV that he is a “role model for his generation” and a “star of motorcycle stunts.” </p>

<p class="has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Motocross stuntman Abdoulaye N., 39, [photo], is in custody of French police, suspected of being one of the two thieves who broke into the Apollon gallery in Louvre, France, on October 19 and made off with nearly $100 million&#8217;s worth of jewels. He has worked as a security guard at the Pompidou center. </strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">French paper, Le Parisien, said the suspect had worked for the logistics firm UPS, Toys R Us and as a security guard at the Pompidou Center art museum. According to several French media outlets, Abdoulaye N’s criminal record features 15 offenses, including: possession and transportation of drugs; driving without a license; and causing danger to others. Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said he&#8217;d been convicted in 2015 for a robbery committed in 2014. The 37-year-old male arrested last week in connection with the Louvre heist, was also involved in that crime.<br>Abdoulaye N is believed to be one of the two thieves who broke into the Apollo Gallery with power tools, cutting into display cases to steal the jewels. His DNA was reportedly found on one of the cases and on items they left behind. Arrested at his home in Aubervilliers, six days after the 19 October heist, he faces charges of organized theft and criminal conspiracy.<br>A court in Bobigny, north of Paris, on Wednesday postponed his trial in a separate case in which he is accused of damaging public property, saying the conditions for a “serene” hearing could not be met due to “media attention and recent events”.<a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/nov/02/louvre-jewel-heist-petty-criminals-paris-prosecutor"></a></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Four suspects are in custody in relation to the theft, including three thought to have been members of the four-man gang who used a stolen truck with an extendable ladder and freight lift to reach the first-floor window of the museum’s Apollo gallery.<br>Two of the gang smashed an unsecured window and two glass display cases before descending in the lift and fleeing on motorbikes driven by the other two, in a brazen daylight heist that lasted less than seven minutes from start to finish.<br>They fled with eight pieces, including an emerald and diamond necklace that Napoleon I gave to his second wife, Marie Louise, and a diadem set with 212 pearls and nearly 2,000 diamonds that once belonged to the wife of Napoleon III. <br>The hunt continues for the stolen jewelry which remains missing, as investigators continue for the fourth member of the break-in team, who is still at large. Authorities are also investigating who might have ordered the jewel theft.</p>
