Gill in September was convicted after admitting to accepting thousands of euros in Pay-To-Play bribes from&comma; Oleg Voloshyn&comma; a pro-Russian politician in Ukraine between 2018 and 2019&comma; &lbrack;&dollar;39&comma;306&rsqb;&comma; and could have got even more from Voloshyn&comma; a former Ukrainian MP and alleged Russian asset&period; <br>Oleg Voloshyn remains under investigation in his home country&comma; who was later sanctioned by the United States and indicted for treason in Ukraine&period; <br>In 2022 Voloshyn and three other Ukrainian nationals were accused by the Biden administration of working on behalf of the Kremlin to destabilize their country&comma; just as Russia was preparing to invade Ukraine&period;<br>UK police said messages with Voloshyn found on Gill’s phone provided coded references to their financial dealings&period; There were also references to other members of the European Parliament&comma; including British representatives and politicians from the Netherlands&period;<br>Farage&comma; whose Reform UK party is topping several public opinion polls in the United Kingdom has distanced from Gill&comma; who is no longer a Reform member&period; <br>While Farage has said that he did not know about his former colleague’s missteps&comma; the case could yet prove to be an issue for Farage&comma; who has been accused of being soft on Russia despite global condemnation of its February 2022 invasion of Ukraine&period;<br>A statement from the Reform UK Party condemned Gill’s actions described as &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;reprehensible&comma; treasonous and unforgivable”&comma; adding that the party was pleased that &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;justice has been served”&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
