<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A man was fatally shot at his home in San Antonio, Texas, on two weekends back by a neighbor who came over to argue about a noise from a house party, police said.<br>Edward Trejo, 29, a resident of a home on the 300 block of Cincinnati Avenue in San Antonio was struck multiple times during the heated altercation just after 5.15am on Sunday December 21. <br>Trejo was at the holiday party with friends when next door neighbor, Paul Flores, 40, filed a noise complaint, then came over to complain to the party attendees, directly. <br>When Flores confronted Trejo and other tenants in the house, an argument ensued between the two men, escalating to a physical altercation that spilled into the front yard and onto the street. However, during the fight, Flores pulled out a gun and shot Trejo multiple times. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Officers who responded to a call about the shooting found Trejo with gunshot wounds throughout his body. They attempted life-saving measures on the scene before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. <br>The Bexar County Medical Examiner&#8217;s Office determined that a gunshot wound to Trejo&#8217;s neck had been the cause of death.<br>Flores was charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon the same day, and he was booked into the Bexar Adult Detention Center, where he remains as of Monday, according to county jail records. <br>If convicted of murder, Flores could spend a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.</p>

There has since been outpouring of tributes to the victim, including this one from his community sports league </strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Trejo was a well-respected member of his community and a beloved employee at Benson Auto Group in San Antonio. <br>Co-workers said the three words that defined Trejo were &#8216;I got you,&#8217; and that he was dependable and supportive. A sign with those words now sits on the empty desk at his workplace.<br>Tributes to the deceased young man, who was affectionately nicknamed &#8216;Fatso&#8217; in childhood, poured in on social media in the days after he was killed. </p>

You will always be part of the Diablos family. Rest in peace, Edward.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In a Facebook post dedicated to her older brother, Ayanna Trejo wrote: &#8216;I’m lost for words because nothing I say could ever explain this pain&#8230; &#8216;My heart is shattered in ways I never imagined. Fatso, you were more than my brother you were my safe place, my protector, my biggest support. You did everything for me, always putting me before yourself, and I will never forget that.&#8217;<br>During a memorial held on Sunday, around 200 mourners who brought blue, gray and white balloons in different shades, released all of the balloons at the same time in honor of Trejo. </p>
