<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sheriff&#8217;s deputies in Logan County, Oklahoma responding to a domestic disturbance call, following up on information giving by one of the children in the residence, found the body woman dumped in a trash can outside her own home<br>The police stated that Spring Weems, 49, was killed at her home in Edmond, near Oklahoma City, in the afternoon of Wednesday January 29.<br>While charges have not yet been filed, her adopted teenage son was booked into a juvenile detention center on a first-degree murder complaint in connection with her death, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said.<br>The discovery after deputies were called for a welfare check by people who had not seen Spring Weems recently. Deputies initially found two teenagers aged 16 and 17, at the scene, and after speaking with them, they realized Weems was not present.<br>30 minutes late, a neighbor seeing the teenagers fighting in the yard, intervened and was told by one of the boys that the other had killed his mother, prompting her to call the deputies back to the scene.<br>The boy then told officers the other killed his mother and placed her body outside in the trash bin. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Deputies conducted a search around the home and found the homeowner&#8217;s body as described. According to their report, Weems suffered injuries deemed &#8216;suspicious in nature&#8217; and &#8216;consistent with homicide.&#8217;<br>The accused boy was arrested for first-degree murder and placed in juvenile detention.<br>“Yes, we’ve located a body, it is located in a trash can, and confirmed it is a fatality,” confirmed Undersheriff Troy Dykes with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, while speaking to a local news outlet.<br>Weems who lived alone with the two teenagers at her home was sole guardian of her boys. <br>The family are also believed to have been parishioners at the non-denominational evangelical Life Church. Weems, a devout Christian, was not abash publicly sharing her faith in God on social media.<br>Judging by her social media activities, Weems was an involved parent. A feature at her children&#8217;s high school wrestling matches, frequently chronicling their accomplishments on her Facebook page.<br>Ten days prior, she wrote a review calling out a Christian food pantry for alleged poor treatment of a homeless person.<br>Describing the incident as &#8216;absolutely heartbreaking to witness as a Christian&#8217;, she told the shop: &#8216;You will answer to Our Father God in the end of ur life for not only the homeless you shunned &; refused to help, but for EVERY SOUL that your actions turned away from Christ bc this was the &#8220;example&#8221; you left. I&#8217;ll pray for you.&#8217;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Weems is the sole owner of the home located in a quiet neighborhood. The single mom and her family, appear to have been devout Christians.<br>At least one son was involved with Life Church&#8217;s youth ministry program, Switch. In April 2023, she shared how her son had gone to the church&#8217;s Color Wars games. The worship-focused event involves teams of youths competing in messy games using powdered or liquid paint.<br>Weems, sharing a photo of her paint-covered child, wrote: &#8216;They may come home dirty but they leave with a message of Faith, Community, Accountability, Camaraderie, Leadership &; Moral Compass in their/our difficult teen years.&#8217; </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The murder has shocked the small Cascata Falls neighborhood, where locals claim violent crime is rare. <br>Authorities in Logan County who confirmed “We do have one teen who is in custody at this time,” have not released the name or age of the homicide suspect, believed to be a minor who lives in the home. <br>the manner or cause of death has not been published, but the body were taken to the medical examiner’s office, awaiting autopsy.<br>As the investigation continues, authorities are working with the state to find a safe home for Weems&#8217; other son. <br></p>
