<p>Police have released surveillance footage showing a shadowy figure they believe may be responsible for the execution-style killing of 87-year-old retired legal luminary and philanthropist Robert Fuller Jr. inside an upscale Maryland senior living facility, earlier this month.<br>In the footage video released by the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division, shows a person is seen walking on the property of the Cogir Potomac Senior Living in Potomac, Maryland. around the time Fuller was found shot dead inside his apartment. </p>

<p>Fuller, a retired Navy Reserve officer, prominent Maine attorney and major benefactor to his hometown of Augusta was killed in his new home in Maryland.<br>On the morning of Valentine&#8217;s Day, Saturday Feb 14, he was found unresponsive the facility located on Tennis Lane, in upscale Maryland neighborhood of Potomac. First responders from Montgomery Fire Department and police officers on arrival pronounced him dead at the scene.<br>He had been shot in the head, police formally classified his death as a homicide.<br>The footage released shows a figure with long dark hair walking away from the camera in an outdoor area.<br>The individual&#8217;s face is not visible and investigators stressed that there is &#8216;no clear description of the suspect&#8217;s gender or race.&#8217;<br>Police also said that &#8216;The person shown in the video could be male or female.&#8217;</p>

<p>Robert Fuller Jr. was the great-grandson of Supreme Court Chief Justice Melville Fuller, who served from 1888 to 1910 and notably voted to uphold the “separate but equal” decision in the landmark Plessy v. Ferguson.<br>A highly regarded figure in Augusta, Maine, where he practiced law for more than 35 years and built a reputation as both a formidable attorney and a deeply committed philanthropist, he later moved to Maryland to be closer to family.<br>In 2021, Fuller made a $1.64 million donation to help fund improvements at the Alumni Field athletic complex at Cony High School after the project stalled during financial challenges brought on by the Covid pandemic.<br>The Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce said he donated more than $1.6 million to modernize the complex, and the field was subsequently named in his honor.<br>A press release from the City of Augusta at the time outlined his wide-ranging philanthropy, including support for the local hospital, historical society, YMCA, Old Fort Western, a local library, and a scholarship fund administered by Le Club Calumet Educational Foundation to assist high school students in Augusta and neighboring communities.</p>

<p>Fuller was found unresponsive inside his apartment just after 7:30am on Valentine&#8217;s Day. In a press release detectives say they are &#8216;asking for the public&#8217;s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of an 87-year-old Potomac man.&#8217;<br>In the course of the investigation, cops obtained surveillance video showing &#8216;a person on the property of the senior living facility around the time of the homicide.&#8217; <br>Police say &#8216;The individual is considered a suspect in this case.&#8217;<br>Investigators are urging anyone who recognizes the clothing worn by the individual such as the distinctive black and cream checkered shirt to reach out to Crime Solvers of Montgomery County. <br>Other distinguishing characteristics including the person&#8217;s gait could also provide vital clues. <br>Police are the help of the public to bringing the suspect[s] to book. </p>
