then 43&comma; began texting and exchanging music playlists with him in 2024&period; The pair reportedly&comma; exchanged more than 2&comma;400 text messages&period; <br>She later bought him cigarettes and let him use her marijuana vape pen before they progressed to having sex&period;<br>Johnson-Swartz was 44 and the boy 16&comma; when the affair was discovered in January 2025&comma; by a therapists who then filed a report with Douglas County Human Services&period; <br>The teacher-student relationship was uncovered barely five months after Johnson-Swartz had been named among the seven finalists for Colorado’s Teacher of the Year Award&period;<br>School authorities at STEM School Highlands Ranch immediately placed her on suspension&period; She was later fired and banned from campus&period;<br>With the dust yet to settle&comma; a month later&comma; the student was caught on security camera leaving the school and jumping into the suspended teacher’s car on February 18&comma; 2025&period; Questioned later&comma; the boy told investigators she drove him to a nearby neighborhood&period;<br>Johnson-Swartz was later indicted and arrested on charges of felony kidnapping&comma; three counts of sexual assault on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor&period; She was released on a &dollar;100&comma;000 bond the following day<br>Despite the extant court orders to stay away&comma; Johnson-Swartz continued to contact the student&period;<br>Over the Fourth of July Weekend in 2025&comma; the teacher and the boy ran into each other on consecutive nights at Fiddlers Green&comma; a music venue in Greenwood Village&period; <br>It&&num;8217&semi;s not known whether the meetings were pre-planned&comma; but the band playing those nights was featured on the playlist the pair had exchanged early in their relationship&period; The two spoke briefly on the second night&comma; per the affidavit&period; But Johnson-Swartz began calling and texting in the days that followed&comma; the student told investigators&period;<br>According to the affidavit&comma; at one point&comma; she cornered the teen and told him&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Just say you don’t love me&period;”<br>Following those encounters&comma; Johnson-Swartz continued to call and text her young love interest&comma; in the days that followed&period;<br>Subsequently&comma; the boy and his parents reported the encounters and stalking to police leading to her being arrested again at the fast-food restaurant&comma; where she&&num;8217&semi;d been working after losing her teaching job&period;<br>The boy has said he was not surprised his former teacher lover whom she called her an &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;unstable woman&comma;” would resort to stalking&period; <br>He is recorded in the affidavit as saying&comma; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;She threw away her entire life for me&period; And I’m not entirely surprised by the fact that she then would have trouble letting go because she did throw her life for me&period; But no&comma; I never told her I loved her&comma; and she never said that to me&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;
