Rose Isela Guzman Ortiz said her father, the head of the ruthless Sinaloa cartel, went to her home in California while the world’s biggest manhunt was underway to find him.<br />
Her 58-year-old father entered the US last year shortly after his infamous meeting with US actor Sean Penn in October.</p>

<p>Ortiz did not reveal the exact dates but she said he crossed the border to visit relatives and see her five-bedroom house, which he bought for her and her four children.<br />
“My dad deposited the money in a bank account with a lawyer and a while after he came to see the house, his house. He came twice,” the 39-year-old said.<br />

She refused to say how he managed to evade capture while in the States as the CIA and FBI were still searching from following his prison break last July.<br />
He was sprung from his cell through a mile ling tunnel riding away to freedom on a specially adapted motor bike.<br />
Ortiz, who said her dad managed to break out the maximum security Altiplano Prison 55 miles west of Mexico City with the help of corrupt officials, owns several small businesses in Southern California, including car washes and cafes.<br />
“My dad’s escape was an agreement,” she said.<br />
The warden of the prison and the head of Mexico&#8217;s penitentiary system are among the more than 30 people arrested over the escape.<br />
Guzman was sent back to Altiplano following his recapture on January 8.<br />
She also said her father’s wealth had been exaggerated by the Mexican Government and he was not a billionaire.</p>
