Johnathon Holmes, 35, followed the 21-year-old woman before pouncing on her and launching his sickening attack<br />
A young woman bravely fought off <a href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/all-about/sex-attack">a sex attacker</a> by scratching him with her house keys &#8211; leaving him looking like Frankenstein&#8217;s monster.<br />
Vile Johnathon Holmes followed the 21-year-old for a mile before he pounced , pushing her into the bushes and attacking her.<br />
The depraved 35-year-old forced her on her back and climbed on top of her, telling her: &#8220;You are going to enjoy this.&#8221;But incredibly, the young woman used her keys to cut his face and bit down on his tongue, shouting &#8220;you won&#8217;t do that to a woman again&#8221; as he fled.<br />
And now, her courage has been marked by South Yorkshire Police who presented her with a bravery award<br />

Superintendent Scott Green, told the woman, who cannot be named: &#8220;You displayed an astonishing level of bravery during this investigation, your actions undoubtedly deterred the offender from continuing his assault and your detailed recollection of such a traumatic event, led to the arrest, conviction and imprisonment of a very dangerous criminal.<br />
&#8220;As a husband, as the father of a daughter and behalf of every woman in this city, I commend you.<br />
&#8220;On behalf of South Yorkshire Police we recognise your bravery, selflessness and truly outstanding courage in helping make this city a safer place for every woman in it.&#8221;<br />
Describing the woman&#8217;s actions, Supt Green added: The horrifying assault culminated in the woman being forced into a nearby hedge whilst the male tried to get on top of her, groping her and telling her &#8216;you&#8217;re going to enjoy this&#8217;.<br />
&#8220;She continued to fight in the genuine belief that he intended to rape her and described feeling that she was &#8216;fighting for her life&#8217;.<br />
&#8220;As a victim of a terrifying crime, her bravery throughout this ordeal is astonishing.&#8221;<br />

<p>Creepy Holmes was caught on CCTV in Sheffield city centre, South Yorks., hiding behind walls and watching lone women after he had spent the afternoon and evening drinking in town.<br />
At around midnight on November 1 he started following a 21-year-old woman as she made her way home from work, stalking her through the streets for more than a mile.<br />
The woman, who realised she was being followed, crossed the street three times in an attempt to escape him.<br />
As Holmes continued to pursue his victim she took out her mobile phone to call her partner and put her keys inside her hand to protect herself if needed.</p>
<p>Holmes then ran at her, pushing her into bushes &#8211; but the woman managed to punch him twice in the stomach with the keys in her hand and started to scream.<br />
Holmes, of Sheffield, began to grope her breast as his victim tried to hit him in the stomach, face and neck while screaming for help.<br />
He told her to shut up and put his hand over her face and then forced his tongue into her mouth.<br />
The woman bit down hard on his tongue and Holmes began to lose his grip on her.<br />
Two passers-by heard the woman&#8217;s cries for help and Holmes jumped over some railing as he tried to escape, injuring himself in the process.<br />
He was eventually arrested by cops and after pleading guilty to sexual assault, was jailed for four-and-a-half years for the attack at Sheffield Crown Court.</p>
