<p class="mol-para-with-font">A red 1981 Ferrari was found in the Port of Los Angeles almost three decades after it was stolen from its owner. The 308 GTSi model was reported stolen by its owner, who asked to remain anonymous, in 1987. The owner was compensated by their insurance company years ago after the car was swiped from a consignment lot on July 19, 1987 in Orange County, according to <a class="" href="http://ktla.com/2016/04/14/1981-ferrari-stolen-in-o-c-nearly-30-years-ago-recovered-at-l-a-long-beach-port-complex/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">KTLA</a>.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">An officer reported the seizure of the car at the Port of Los Angeles, a spokeswoman for the customs at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach complex said.<br />
The car was bound for Poland when it was intercepted by customs agents last week.<br />
With a VIN matching a 1982 red Ferrari that had made its way overseas to Norway via Germany in 2005, the agents knew something about the car wasn&#8217;t right.<br />

<p class="mol-para-with-font">A Ferrari factory expert helped to identify the stolen vehicle<br />
&#8216;This VIN discrepancy is what &#8220;raised a red flag&#8221; and prompted further scrutiny.<br />
&#8216;Such keen attention to details by CBP officers is commendable, especially considering they process a daily average of 500 vehicles intended for export,&#8217; said federal customs Seaport Port Director Carlos Martel in the release.<br />
The car is similar to the model of red Ferrari driven by Tom Selleck in the show Magnum P.I., which ran from 1980 until 1988.<br />
The vehicle has 45,000 miles on it and is estimated to be worth $50,000.<br />
There person trying to ship the vehicle has not been identified yet.</p>
