<p>An award-winning wrestler, football and basketball player, Levar is beloved at school and in the community. But the mere act of being young and foolish; Levar did what millions of kids in America are doing, he exchanged naked text messages with a 16-year-old classmate has turned this youthful indiscretion into a life altering experience for the high school standout.<br />
The girl, a schoolmate, first sent Levar a nude video and then he sent her one in return.<br />
In what appears to be a modern day lynch, the young black boy is being strung out appears to have made his biggest mistake while doing what the majority of American teens have done, (54% of youth under 18), across the color line, with a white girl.<br />
The gross video exchanged has been described by Levar&#8217;s mom, Chasity Washington, as &#8220;A video of a young lady doing an obscene act to herself. And then he sent one doing the same thing.&#8221;<br />
The teen girl&#8217;s parents on discovering the video reported the incident to the police. Levar, alone, was arrested. He was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and possession of child pornography for the video he still had of her on his phone, despite the fact that at 16 and 17 they are both teens. Add to the fact that the girl initiated the &#8216;consensual&#8217;, if ill-conceived, exchange of video material.</p>
<h3><strong>Can we attribute this to the fact that he is young man of color living in the deep south, Louisiana to be precise?</strong></h3>
<p>When pressed by reporters on whether or not race played a role in what appears to be a clear bias in the handling of the matter, the officer in charge of the investigations, Lt. Bill Davis, seemed offended responding:<br />
&#8220;I have nothing to say about that. It doesn&#8217;t matter what your race, what your religion, what your ethnicity, don&#8217;t do child pornography! Plain and simple.&#8221;<br />
Levar is currently facing the prospect of having a criminal record with his prospects of a college career in jopardy except his mother can, somehow, raise the funds for a top flight defense team to help fight the charges.</p>
