“Precocious puberty is traumatic for a child of his age – the baby can’t express his feelings or understand what his happening to him.”
He also explained there was a danger that toddler could stop growing prematurely if the condition wasn’t treated, leaving him only 3ft or 4ft tall for the rest of his life.

This exact age varies with gender, with girls considered to have it if they develop before the age of eight, and boys before nine.

The condition is incredibly rare, with Dr Rustagi claiming the odds to stand at something like one in 100,000. But it is even more unprecedented in a child as young as this patient
In 1939 another child with the condition, Lina Medina, gave birth by C-section in Peru.
She became the youngest mother ever to be recorded, at just five years and seven months, after being taken to hospital by her family with an abnormal growth in her abdomen.
Her son lived a healthy life but the identity of his dad was never discovered.
Precocious puberty meaning th early onset of pubertal development can be caused by the pituitary gland simply functioning in an expedited fashion. Other causes include brain tumors, ovarian cysts or the exposure to estrogen via topical ointments. This could also occur if children accidentally ingest birth control pills.
In  one of it’s more common forms,  CPP (Central Precocious Puberty), there are 2 types of treatment. The first involves a monthly injection which is very painful. This injects blockers which counteract the hormones being secreted by the brain to slow or suppress the rapid development.
The other treatment route is to get an an annual implant. The principle is the same as the injected variety, but is based on a timed release in a dosage strong enough in counteracting the hormones to last for approximately 12 months.
