Det. Jennifer Bennett of the Roswell police department testified in a Fulton County Superior Cour, Friday that the killer told investigators he stalked his victims before approaching them, at one point even scaling the roof of the grocery store. An emotionless Hazelwood, cuffed and dressed in a dark blue jumpsuit, remained stone-faced throughout Bennett’s testimony.<br />
The detective told the court Henderson and Davis were sitting in the backseat of Henderson’s parked SUV when the killer suddenly flung one of the doors open. The male victim Carter, tried to fight him off but the Hazelwood pulled out a revolver, claiming he was scared, shot his victim in the head. He then ordered Henderson out of the car and forced her to take her clothes off.</p>

<p>Carter Davis and Natalie Henderson were robbed and killed behind a Georgia grocery store. Police have yet to determine a motive. Tears streaming down her cheeks, Det. Bennett testified that Hazelwood told investigators he sexually assaulted Henderson with his hand before ordering her to face the car and put her hands on the hood. After she did it, he spanked her before shooting her in the head.</p>

<p>After murdering the teens, Hazelwood lifted a wallet from Henderson’s lifeless body, police said. About an hour after the killings, Hazelwood went to a nearby gas station, wearing a Guy Fawlkes mask, and used Natalie&#8217;s credit card to pay.<br />
Hazelwood, whom one of his attorneys said he suspects suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, then returned to the murder scene and stole Carter&#8217;s jumper cables, apparently out of concern that his car might break down.</p>

When police arrested him at a convenience store about 48 hours later, they found the mask in his car, the jumper cables and a revolver they believe was the murder weapon. Bennett said Hazelwood apparently stole the gun from his grandfather. He was mostly raised by his grandparents, who had very recently tevicted him from their house. The victims were discovered by a delivery driver early the next day, around 6 am.<br />
Hazelwood was arrested two days later, after cops retrieved surveillance footage identifying him and issued a search warrant.</p>

<p>Fulton County District Attorney spokesman Dontaye Carter saidit was not immediately clear if Hazelwood knew his victims.<br />
“There were people that both parties knew. They had mutual acquaintances,” Carter said, noting that a motive for the killings has yet to be determined. Henderson was found completely naked, her body manipulated &#8220;in a sexually explicit fashion, with her legs &#8216;spread eagle,'&#8221; while Carter, wearing only shorts, had his arms stretched out on each side, the report noted.<br />
The two victims, according to the police, were friends about to enter their senior year at Roswell High School.<br />
A <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/2hmhqdws?rcid=c6af1fd058c711e6b917bc764e065bc4">GoFundMe page</a> was set up by one of Davis&#8217; lacrosse teammates to assist his family with funeral arraignments.</p>
