<p>Serial rapist Gizar Ziyangareev, who left one of his victims in a coma told police he had done ‘nothing bad’ to the women and that they should actually be ‘grateful’ to him.<br />
Ziyangareev, 39, viciously assaulted Anna Barmina, 31, with a knife and punched her before dragging her into bushes and ‘raping her with a broken tree branch’. Anna was only one of his four rape victims that same week. She was left for dead after being robbed of her money, mobile phone and laptop.<br />
The authorities finally caught up with Ziyangareev, he was caught on CCTV near the crime scene in Ufa, Russia.The previously convicted sex offender received a 23 year sentence for the crime</p>

<p>Ziyangareev was tracked down ten days after the attack on the 31-year-old after police examined the profiles of 107 known rapists.The a father-of-three, had previous convictions for raping a neighbour and underage girl and had recently been released from jail after serving five years<br />
A few weeks later he went on to rape the four women, one of whom was 42-years-old, but was only caught after the attack on Ms Barmina.</p>

<p>Anna Barmina was left with damaged internal organs, suffered a heart attack following the attack and went into a coma. Eleven months later, she has regained consciousness in hospital but has not spoken due to the extreme trauma and has lost around 30kg in weight.<br />
Her mother, who wished to remain annonymous, said: ‘I did not go to the trial because I think my daughter needs me here and I do not want to waste my energy on this inhuman monster.<br />
‘Such people must either be completely isolated from society, or I ask to return the death penalty.<br />
‘My pain is too severe to go and see the person who has wrecked the life of my girl. I cannot afford negative emotions, I have to be strong.’</p>

He had been married in the past and has two daughters and a son. He easily got acquainted with women and they did not feel anything wrong with him.’<br />
The serial rapist confessed to his crimes but did not apologise for his actions.<br />
The source added: ‘He told police he did nothing bad to these women and they should be grateful to him’.<br />
Senior detective Alexander Guryev said: &#8216;This crime deeply shocked us with its cruelty.<br />
&#8216;We have never come across anything similar.<br />
Speaking after the sentence, Ms Barmina’s friend said: ‘This attacker is not a human, he’s a monster. I just cannot understand how the court could give such a lenient term.<br />
‘Anna will never get up, she will never speak… she has no future because of what he did. And he will get out of jail one day and continue to rape.’</p>
