<p>Michael Horvath, 49 of Ross Township man is charged with killing Holly Grim, a Lower Macungie woman who has been missing since 2013, after authorities say they recovered one of her rib bones from his backyard and a DVD about &#8220;hunting humans&#8221; from inside his home.<br />
Horvath, a cabinet maker, worked with Holly Grim and her mother at the Allen Organ Company, Macungie.<br />
Horvath, was arraigned Thursday morning in Monroe County on one count of homicide, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and obstruction of the administration of law.<br />
Authorities allege Horvath killed Grim in Monroe County, but will also be charged in Lehigh County with two counts of kidnapping. Prosecutors plan to consolidated the trial in Monroe County.</p>

<p>Authorities did not present possible motives in the killing, but said they only knew of a &#8220;working relationship&#8221; between Grim and Horvath, who both worked at Allen Organ Co. in Macungie. Police also said it &#8220;didn&#8217;t appear&#8221; that Horvath&#8217;s wife, Cathy, knew anything about Grim&#8217;s kidnapping or alleged murder.<br />
Police said there is a &#8220;possibility&#8221; of other victims, but had no firm proof.<br />
According to state police Lt. Joseph Sokolofski: &#8220;We followed where the evidence led us, and it led us here today&#8221;.<br />
Holly&#8217;s mother, Jeanette Grim, reported her missing on the morning of Nov. 22, 2013, when she was unable to reach her daughter. Grim was last seen between 6:34 and 7 a.m., after dropping her son off at his bus stop in the Red Maples development in Lower Macungie.<br />
Jeanette Grim said she found her daughter&#8217;s car in the driveway and inside the home, she found a spilled coffee mug and overturned ashtray.<br />
Investigators also discovered a wet coffee stain, an overturned ashtray and a black button &#8220;in plain sight&#8221; on the floor. On the exterior of the unlocked back door, investigators found a &#8220;bright, reddish&#8221; stain and sent it to a lab for DNA testing.<br />
Police interviewed her co-workers at Allen Organ Co, including Michael Horvath because they worked in the same department and he was one of several employees &#8220;absent from or late for work&#8221; the morning of her disappearance.Horvath, investigators re-interviewed him at his home and he claimed he&#8221;did not know the victim well&#8221;.<br />
Horvath told cops he got a flat tire on his way to work and returned home to repair it before heading back to work. The location of the flat tire was about two-and-a-half miles from Grim&#8217;s home.<br />
When police interviewed Cathy Horvath, she told them she discovered her husband&#8217;s &#8220;dirty shoes&#8221; in their bedroom on the day Grim disappeared. She said the shoes had not been there when she left for work, so she knew her husband had returned home that day, acknowledging he told her about his flat tire.<br />
Cathy Horvath told police that after her husband &#8220;kills and guts the wild game he hunts, he disposes of the entrails in the woods around their home.&#8221; She also mentioned she suspected her husband was having an affair, and gave investigators the phone number of &#8216;Nicole&#8217; [Wagenbauer].<br />
Wagenbauer told investigators she met Horvath on AdultFriendFinder.com, they met for lunch once in December 2013, but then she backed out of another meeting. When she told Horvath she was meeting her boyfriend at a mall, he told her &#8220;he would also go to the same mall and follow her. Wagenbauer said she found this &#8220;disturbing&#8221; and met her boyfriend at a different mall.<br />
When investigators reviewed Horvath&#8217;s cell phone records, they found he had attempted to call &#8220;Nicole&#8221; about 30 minutes before, at 6:07 a.m. the morning of Grim&#8217;s disappearance.<br />
Cops interviewed Michael Horvath again, this time, he admitted knowing Wagenbauer and &#8220;acknowledged that he would have called her on the way to work&#8221; the morning of Grim&#8217;s disappearance.&#8221;</p>

<p>Investigators interviewed Horvath again in June 2014, authorities said. This time he told state police he went there twice, that he transported and helped carry a clothes washer and dryer into Grim&#8217;s home about a year before her disappearance.<br />
Horvath said he used the back door both times, but did not recall injuring himself, police took a DNA swab from Horvath which matched a bloodstain found in Grim&#8217;s home at the time of her disappearance., but they noted that the timeline was &#8220;not consistent with the condition of the blood&#8221; found on the back door.<br />
The spot of blood found on Grim&#8217;s rear door found the day she was reported missing had been tested and proved to be a match to Horvath&#8217;s DNA.<br />
In late September state police went to Horvath&#8217;s home with a search warrant prepared to dig. For more than a week state troopers dug day and night at the rear of the property tucked in a wooded area on the northern slope of Blue Mountain. Early in the dig, state troopers recovered human bones, including the one now determined to be Grim&#8217;s, authorities said.<br />
In the arrest affidavit filed Thursday morning, investigators said their search of Horvath&#8217;s home uncovered DVDs depicting murder, deviant sex and &#8220;hunting humans.&#8221; Sex toys, restraints, stun guns and notes depicting stalking were also seized, police said.<br />
Monroe County authorities said Michael Horvath is charged with homicide in the killing of Holly Grim. He was arraigned Thursday morning, bail has been denied and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24.</p>
