Pennsylvania said Wednesday that Judith Permar, a retired employee of the Mount Carmel Area School District, wasn’t trying to help those who are less fortunate. rather, she was stealing from them, when she met her untimely death, Monday in Natalie, Pennsylvania.
The Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania woman was found dead Monday after she got her arm stuck in a clothing donation bin after the step stool s had collapsed beneath her.
Township police chief Brian Hollerbush said Wednesday that the 56-year-old whom he knew and described as a ‘as a very nice woman.’ was taking bags of clothes out of the bin.
“She was fishing bags out and the ladder she was standing on gave way and she couldn’t get her hand loose,” he said.
Judy Permer allegedly, went to the donation bin around 2 a.m. Sunday. She was discovered six hours later, around 8:30 a.m. on Monday and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said Permer who is described as short, was using a step stool to reach into the bin when it collapsed beneath her.
With her left arm became stuck in the clothing bin, her feet were left hanging just above the ground, breaking her arm and wrist.
By the time she was discovered early Monday, police said, she had died of trauma and hypothermia.

Chief Hollerbush said bags containing shoes and clothes were found on the ground near the bin and her black Hummer was nearby with the engine still running.
“It wasn’t something that I would expect to be seeing,” he said, adding that he knew Permar.
Apparently, this wasn’t her first time stealing items from the drop-off box, either. Hollerbush said police received a call in November about a woman driving a black Hummer who was taking items from the bin.
Shortly after Permar’s death, her daughter Angela Minnig posted a message on Facebook writing that her family was still trying to cope with the loss.
“It was very sudden and our family will learn to cope with the loss of such an amazing Wife, Mother, Sister and Friend,” she wrote. “She was such a fun loving person and we know it would mean the world to her to say ‘See you Again.”
