A man shot his wife before turning the gun on himself in a ‘domestic-murder suicide’ in Ellicott City, Maryland. police said.
n Ellicott City man allegedly killed his wife and then himself in a “domestic murder-suicide” outside their home late Monday night, Howard County Police said Tuesday.
Police said Samuel Lancelotta and his wife, Beth Lancelotta, both 48, were found in the back yard of their home in the 4600 block of Sheppard Lane about 10:40 p.m. after one of their sons called 911 to report a shooting.

One of their teenage sons called 911 after discovering the aftermath of the double killing.
All three of the couple’s teenage children were at home when the shootings happened, police have said.

Howard County Police said the couple died after the shooting at 10.40am on Monday.
They were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center by helicopter, the Baltimore Sun reports, but medics were unable to save their lives.
Police spokeswoman Sherry Llewllyn said there was no obvious motive for the murder suicide, and added that there are ‘no indications that anyone else was involved in the incident’
A handgun was recovered from the scene in Ellicott City.
Mr Lancelotta and his wife, both 48, were co-owners of Clarksville-based Lancelotta Real Estate.
The company’s website boasts that it has represented clients in the purchase, sale or lease of more than $1billion of commercial real-estate.

 Police said the motive for the shootings is unknown.

“This very much appears to be a domestic situation where a husband shot his wife, then turned the gun on himself. We don’t know what the motive might have been. There is no indication anyone else was involved,” Llewellyn said.
The Lancelotta reportedly, were a well-known couple in Howard County.
Samuel Lancelotta served as a managing partner at Premier Medical Management as well as general manager of Lancelotta Realty, which lists Beth Lancelotta as the person to contact.
Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman, who knew the couple,told WBALTV Tuesday was a sad day for Howard County:”Both Beth and Sam have been friends of mine for a long time. I liked them both. I woke up to the news this morning like many others in Howard County. I was shocked and saddened,” Kittleman said.
He said the couple had held campaign fundraisers to support them, and said his thoughts went out to their children.
