With her back turned at the pump, a dark Cadillac sedan with some young men pulled up in front of her at the station. The door flung open and the carjacker, crept stealthily towards her driver&#8217;s door. As the thief got behind the wheel, Smith, 28, realized the danger and did some quick thinking.</p>

<strong>Quick thinking helped Melissa Smith foil a potential carjacking</strong></h6>
<p>She quickly raced to the front of the vehicle and jumped on top of the hood. with the thief determined to complete the robbery, she changed from a kneeling position to a sprawl, determinedly hanging on as the thief tried to drive off with her vehicle.<br />
Eventually , he gave up and rejoined his accomplices in their waiting get away car while the grateful car owner got back into her car and took off<br />
Reviewing the CCTV captured video of the robbery attempt, Smith said it wasn&#8217;t until later that she had considered the potential danger of her actions. She said the thief laughed at her throughout the ordeal. &#8216;He showed no remorse&#8217;, she said, recalling that the carjacker slammed on the brakes twice in an attempt to shake her off the hood.<br />
&#8221; I don&#8217;t have time for c**p,&#8221; a still bristling Melissa she said as she recalled pondering whether to save her purse or go after her car.<br />
The urge to save her SUV eventually won, as she thought of what it took to get the vehicle, she said</p>
