<p class="byline">Authorities in Allen County, Kentucky are asking members of the public to help find two young sisters who went missing after their dad’s violent death, last week.<br />
The girls disappeared the same day they attended a funeral for their father.<br />
The Allen County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said 13-year-old Jezzie Whitney and her 11-year-old sister Cassie were last seen on May 18 at a memorial service for their father Larry Whitney Jr., who died from a chest wound.<br />
Police said Whitney Jr. was found injured at the girls&#8217; mother&#8217;s house.<br />
Sheriff Jeff Cooke told the <a href="http://www.bgdailynews.com/news/for_the_record/allen-county-sheriff-s-office-investigating-death/article_a7b88e49-89a2-5e6c-917d-e254a52a9581.html">Bowling Green Daily News</a> that it appeared Whitney Jr. had been stabbed with a knife. He was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.</p>

Deputies said their dad, Larry Whitney Jr., died last week from a chest injury sustained at his home.<br />
“It appeared to be a knife injury,” Allen County Sheriff Jeff Cooke <a href="http://www.bgdailynews.com/news/for_the_record/allen-county-sheriff-s-office-investigating-death/article_a7b88e49-89a2-5e6c-917d-e254a52a9581.html">told the Bowling Green Daily News</a>.<br />
The Department of Social Services tried to take emergency custody of the siblings, but they could not be located, <a href="http://wkrn.com/2017/05/24/kentucky-deputies-searching-for-2-missing-sisters/">news station WKRN reported</a>.</p>

<p class="byline">Officials said they are believed to be with their mother, Melissa Scott, who lost custody of them last week and has an active warrant for her arrest.Scott has a felony warrant out for her arrest. She is facing charges for Custodial Interference.<br />
CPS issued the following statement:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;On 5-18-2017, Department of Protection and Permanency took emergency custody of two juvenile females, Jezzie Whitney, age 13 and Cassie Whitney, age 11. On the same day, the children could not be located. It is believed that the children are with their mother Melissa Scott but their location is not known. Melissa Scott has an active warrant for her arrest in reference to this case.<br />

<p class="byline">The girls’ uncle, Jerry Whitney, <a href="http://www.wbko.com/content/news/Uncle-of-two-missing-Scottsville-girls-speaks-out-in-hopes-of-their-safe-return-424153433.html">told news station WBKO</a> that he’s concerned about their well-being.<br />
&#8220;I want them to be away from her and to be safe,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It was an emergency order to take the kids and her disappearing like that, it only makes a bad situation worse.&#8221;</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Records indicate that the girls’ mother, Melissa Scott, has a long history of run-ins with the law on charges that included DUI, marijuana possession and domestic assault.<br />
Larry Whitney also had a vast criminal history spanning at least 18 years and covering charges, including domestic assault, aggravated assault, methamphetamine manufacturing, drug possession and public intoxication.<br />
Police in Kentucky have not charged or named Scott a suspect, in the stabbing death of Larry Whitney,</p>
