A client has been arrested in her death of a young Louisianan massage therapist after she failed to return from an early morning appointment, Tuesday.<br />
masseuse Kayla Ann Denham from Baton Rouge was found dead Tuesday at the location of her last appointment in Livingston Parish, and a man who lived there has been arrested in connection with her murder.<br />
The body of 24-year-old Denham was found in a barn on the Denham Springs property where Christopher Laundry had recently taken up residence,<a href="http://www.wafb.com/story/35599394/family-distraught-and-in-shock-after-murder-of-massage-therapist-in-livingston-parish-suspect-arrested"> WAFB reported</a>.<br />
The coroner’s office said Wednesday the preliminary cause of the 24-year-old’s death is blunt force with head injuries associated with strangulation.<br />
Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said that Denham, who was a masseuse from Baton Rouge, had been scheduled to meet a client at 5 a.m. Monday at the home.<br />
The 24-year-old, who advertised her services online, reportedly had been working towards earning her massage therapy license.</p>

<p>Before the appointment, she texted her boyfriend the time and location of the house call.<br />
Her family reported her missing when they could not get in contact with her.<br />
“Friends and family became worried after she failed to return home and calls to her cellphone went unanswered,” Sheriff Jason Ard told<a href="http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/crime_police/article_8ac50e08-4ac5-11e7-b712-57311886c54a.html"> The Advocate</a>.<br />
Denham told her boyfriend the address of where she was meeting the client. He added when her boyfriend couldn&#8217;t get in touch with her, he went to that address, but did not see her car.<br />
Unsatisfied Ard said, the boyfriend drove around the area again about 12 hours later and spotted a gravel road near the home. He added the road led to a wooded area, which is where the boyfriend saw her car. According to Ard, Denham&#8217;s boyfriend contacted sheriff&#8217;s deputies Monday between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.<br />
The authorities discovered her body in the barn.<br />
Speaking on behalf of the family, Denham’s cousin Michelle Guglielmo Gilliam said: “We are in shock about the loss of our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend,” Gilliam wrote in a statement.<br />
“Kayla was a wonderful young woman who always shared a beautiful smile on her face and love in her heart. She will be greatly missed, and we ask for privacy during this very difficult period of mourning for the family.”</p>

Authorities said Landry, 25, was arrested soon after on suspicion of killing Kayla Denham [photo], and booked at Livingston Parish Detention Center.<br />
Landry was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on charges of second degree murder and obstruction of justice. His bail was set at $250,000.<br />
Sheriff Ard said the charges against Landry could change depending on the results of the autopsy.</p>
