<p class="mol-para-with-font">The mother of a newborn found in a trash container has been charged with second degree murder, for valuing addiction over the life of her infant.<br />
Kathryn Juanita Green is facing the murder charge after her baby boy was found rotting in a dumpster in Oklahoma after dying of a meth overdose.<br />
Green, 26, is accused of dumping her baby in the trash bin near her home in Enid just north of Oklahoma City.<br />
The baby&#8217;s body was found in the dumpster and was wrapped in a blanket and plastic bag on April 9. Responding officer, Christian Gunning, found a luggage trunk in the dumpster, and inside the trunk Gunning found a deceased infant boy, according to the affidavit. The baby was wrapped in a blanket inside of a plastic trash bag.<br />
The baby&#8217;s autopsy report released this week found the boy died of methamphetamine toxicity and the medical examiner has ruled his death a homicide.</p>

<p class="">Kathryn Green was also charged with unauthorized disposal of a corpse, child neglect, drug possession and obstructing an officer in Garfield County.<br />
The charges have been amended since her original arrest April 9 when police were first called to Green&#8217;s trailer home, 1616 S 2, about an odor and found an infant&#8217;s body in a dumpster outside the house, said Capt. Tim Jacobi.</p>

A neighbor told police that he had thrown the box away at Green&#8217;s request, but he thought she was joking when she said there was a baby inside, <a class="" href="http://newsok.com/mother-faces-murder-charge-in-enid-babys-death/article/5557891" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">NewsOK </a>reports.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Green was arrested in April after police searched the home where she was living with her three young children. She was arrested on charges of child neglect after officers found her home to be unsanitary and unfit for the children.<br />
The mother was also jailed for meth possession. The charge sheet said she attempted to conceal meth in her body cavities.<br />
A DNA test later confirmed that Green was the mother of the baby found in the dumpster.<br />
Her charges from the original arrest were amended on Thursday once the medical examiner&#8217;s report was released.<br />
With the current elevated slew of charges that include second-degree murder, unauthorized disposal of a corpse, child neglect, possession of a controlled dangerous substance-meth and obstructing an officer, Green remains in prison from her original arrest.<br />
She faces up to 10 years to life imprisonment on the murder charge, up to five years imprisonment or up to a year in county jail and/or a fine of up to $5,000 on the corpse disposal charge.</p>
