<p>A high school teacher in Florida is accused of abusing and molesting multiple female students throughout his 14 years as an educator.<br />
A lawsuit filed by one of the victims against the Miami-Dade School Board claims Jason Meyers had sexual relationships with at least eight current and former students, and school officials were aware of the allegations.<br />
In the document, first <a href="http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/education/article165340902.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">obtained by the Miami Herald</a>, the English and creative writing teacher at Miami Palmetto High School, would often spend time alone in his locked classroom with a group of underage students, known as &#8220;Jason&#8217;s Girls.&#8221;<br />
The suit also claims the married father of three encouraged one victim to read the book &#8220;Lolita,&#8221; specifically telling her to focus on a passage about an older man who seduces a young girl.<br />
He also told another student to break up with her boyfriend and bought provocative clothes for her to wear to school. Meyers, <a href="https://media.local10.com/document_dev/2017/08/04/Jane%20Doe%20Vs.%20Miami-Dade%20County%20Public%20School%20Board_1501871495226_10236595_ver1.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the suit claims</a>, also asked the girl to write a poem titled &#8220;Come Inside Me.&#8221;<br />
On one occasion, the teacher is said to have had sex with a student inside his classroom.</p>

<p>The document alleges that school officials knew about Meyers&#8217; inappropriate relationships with his students well before his February 2016 arrest.<br />
The Miami Herald reports that the principal at Dr. Michael M. Krop High School was emailed in 2008 about the teacher sleeping with girls in his class.<br />
&#8220;In response, (the school system) transferred Meyers to Palmetto High School, where he continued to have unfettered access to female students,&#8221; the suit states.<br />
Meyers&#8217; wife, also an employee at Palmetto, reportedly confronted him on school grounds during the 2015-2016 school year about his relationship with a minor.<br />
Meyers was arrested at his home in February. According to the suit, when officers showed up to the educator&#8217;s house his three kids were seen &#8220;running around inside the house naked and touching their own genitals.&#8221; Law enforcement notified the Florida Department of Children &; Families.<br />
The teacher was fired after his arrest, a district spokesman said.</p>
