A Florida teacher and high school football coach arrested for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old pupil in February has been nabbed by police again over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with another teenager from a different school he worked at.
The initial arrest of Arin Hankerd, 43, of Ormond Beach, prompted more girls to come forward accusing him of inappropriate behavior.
He has now been charged with luring a 17-year-old to his home in Ormond Beach, where he is said to have groped and had the girl perform oral sex on him.
Hankerd was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor, enhanced to a first-degree felony, and offenses against students by authority figures, a second-degree felony, the State Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.
The former Atlantic High School teacher was already facing up to 135 years in prison, if convicted of all the charges, after he was accused of accused of inappropriate behavior with a student and charged in February, 2023.
The current indictment alleges that the former educator sent the teenager flirtatious Facebook messages, including asking what color underwear she was wearing, and requesting explicit photographs, according reports the Daytona Beach News-Journal.
The girl was a student at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, where Hankerd taught physical education before moving to Atlantic High School in 2021.
Hankerd was able to continue his twisted schemes and found a new and younger teen student to exploit, prosecutors said, leading to his arrest over the relationship with the 15-year-old.

Hankerd was caught after his alleged victim’s mother rifled through the girl’s journal, which detailed the predatory relationship.
Prosecutors say Hankerd first began buying the student lunch in December, but escalated the relationship just a month later after he began sending her inappropriate pictures via Instagram.
The gym teacher had reportedly been warned numerous times over the years about his creepy behavior.

Subsequently, the gym teacher was arrested on allegations he had sex with an underage student, the second time he’s been charged with the crime.
Hankerd was immediately suspended in the wake of his February arrest but was released on bail bond of $250,000 with electronic ankle monitoring.
However, at least 30 women have since come forward with information in the last three months, including four who claimed they were victimized.
Following Hankerd’s second arrest, a judge ruled that the former teacher should be held in jail without bond until his trial after agreeing with the state attorney’s office that he is a danger to the community.
