<p class="mol-para-with-font">A man has been sentenced to life in prison for the horrific rape of his ex-girlfriend&#8217;s seven-year-old daughter who ended up with a sexually transmitted disease.<br />
Andrew Hunter Jr., 26, was found guilty on Friday of raping the young girl at gunpoint in New Orleans in October 2014.<br />
The victim tested positive for chlamydia about three weeks after her rape, according to police.<br />
The child&#8217;s mother told police she had also contracted the STD after having consensual sex with Hunter before they broke up.<br />
State police determined a DNA sample matched seminal fluid recovered on the child.<br />
Defense attorney Martin Regan has denied that his client ever had chlamydia.<br />
The girl had been abducted from her bed before being blindfolded, bound and gagged by the intruder on the night of October 17, 2014.<br />
Police said Andrew Hunter Jr., then 23, entered the girl&#8217;s home armed with a gun around 5:45 a.m. on Oct. 17 and woke her up. He told her to go to the back of the house and lock the door. She complied. There he used clothing to tie her hands behind her back, put a scarf in her mouth and raped her.<br />
Hunter then put his gun to the victim&#8217;s head while telling her to go to sleep and count to 50, police wrote.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">Hunter sexually assaulted the girl before fleeing.<br />
The victim&#8217;s mother didn&#8217;t know the suspect&#8217;s real name or where he lived. But her brother, who was friends with Drew, provided a possible address less than a mile from the house where the rape occurred.<br />
The suspect provided investigators with a voluntary DNA sample. was found to be a match to the DNA in the rape kit.<br />
Police booked Hunter into Orleans Parish Prison on Dec. 22, 2014 on counts of aggravated rape, false imprisonment with a weapon, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault with a firearm. His bond was set at $150,000.<br />
A jury on Friday found Hunter guilty of all five counts that he was facing.<br />
He was convicted of charges including second-degree kidnapping and aggravated burglary. Hunter will be given a mandatory life prison sentence on September 15.</p>
