According to <a href="http://ktla.com/2017/08/16/stockton-man-accused-of-killing-woman-in-front-of-her-2-children-throwing-body-in-garbage-authorities/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KTLA</a>, police in Stockton have charged Daniel Winkler with stabbing girlfriend Angenai Terlouw in front of her 3-year-old and 5-year-old kids.<br />
Supervising District Attorney Robert Himelblau told the outlet&#8217;s sister station<a href="http://fox40.com/2017/08/15/man-accused-of-killing-stockton-woman-leaving-body-in-garbage-bin-appears-in-court/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KTXL</a> he was at a loss for words to explain what the victim&#8217;s children must be going through at the time.</p>

<p>According to <a href="http://ktla.com/2017/08/16/stockton-man-accused-of-killing-woman-in-front-of-her-2-children-throwing-body-in-garbage-authorities/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KTLA</a>, police in Stockton have charged Daniel Winkler with stabbing girlfriend Angenai Terlouw in front of her 3-year-old and 5-year-old children.<br />

&#8220;I&#8217;ve never had a loved-one murdered. And I certainly haven&#8217;t had one murdered in front of my child or my nephew or my niece or whatever that is,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I&#8217;ve dealt with this a lot, and I&#8217;ll never be able to explain what they go through.&#8221;</p>

<h6><strong>Angenai Terlouw, brutally murdered and dumped in yhe thrash by boyfriend in Stockton, Sunday</strong></h6>
<p>According to Stockton police, officers on Sunday August 13, 2017, responded to a report of a possible dead person inside a garbage can. When Officers arrived, they located a deceased person wrapped up inside a garbage can.<br />
During the course of this investigation a person of interest was detained. Homicide Detectives en<span class="text_exposed_show">ded up arresting the person of interest, Daniel Winkler, the victim&#8217;s 36-year-old boyfriend, for homicide.<br />
Detectives learned the actual crime occurred at a residence in the 700 block of Erma Avenue. Forensic examination was conducted Monday and the preliminary results indicates The 37-year-old victim died from stab wounds. Detectives believe this case is domestic violence related as the victim and suspect were in a dating relationship.</span></p>

<p>Records showed that previous instances of domestic violence between Terlouw and Winkler.<br />
Terlouw&#8217;s body was found &#8220;wrapped up&#8221; in a trash can.<br />
The discovery was made at around 9:45 a.m. Sunday the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/stocktonpolicedepartment/photos/a.601460973283164.1073742344.205951982834067/1394652627297324/?type=3&;theater" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stockton Police Department</a> confirmed.<br />
After finding the body, police said they identified Winkler as a person of interest and took him into custody.<br />
They later learned that 37-year-old Angenai Terlouw, had been killed inside her home not far from the garbage can where her body was found inside. She was stabbed to death.</p>

<p>Her family has set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising money for the children in the wake of their mother&#8217;s death. The crowdfunding effort has raised more than $12,000 of its $25,000 goal.<br />
The page description revealed that the children &#8220;have lost both parents and will need long term counseling to cope with trauma they have witnessed and will endure.&#8221;<br />
All money raised will go toward a trust fund, according to the page.<br />
While Terlouw&#8217;s family tries to grapple with their grief, Winkler&#8217;s been facing the reality of his crimes.<br />
On Tuesday he appeared in court for the first time. He&#8217;s currently being held in county jail without bail.<br />
Winkler&#8217;s been charged with one count of murder, though additional charges may be added based on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/SJCDA/posts/1592394140807253" target="_blank" rel="noopener">D.A</a>.&#8217;s investigation.</p>
