<p>A 42-year-old New York based actor stabbed to death outside a Brooklyn park was killed by a complete stranger he had the misfortune of eyeballing on the street, the victim’s wife said Saturday.<br />
41-year-old Christina Romero-Carroll and her husband George Carroll, were walking down Monitor St. near McGorlick Park in Greenpoint when they became embroiled in an argument with two men sitting on the steps of a school about 9:30 p.m. Friday, police sources said. It led to an altercation that proved fatal,<br />
Police say the suspect took off down Monitor Street in a dark-colored SUV.<br />
Carroll , originally from Texas and Christina had been married for five years. The couple moved to Greenpoint in February and planned to build a life there.<br />
“We moved from Cypress Hills because it was too dangerous,” said his heartbroken wife Christina Romero Carroll.<br />
“We weren’t sure we would like Greenpoint but we loved it.”<br />
“What are you looking at?” one of the men said as the duo stormed over and attacked Carroll, according to his wife.<br />
“I think it’s nothing, [but] these guys cross over and it happened so fast,” she said. “This young lady that was with them said ‘What’s happening?’ and I immediately just called the cops.”</p>

<p>As Carroll and his assailants traded blows, one of his attackers pulled out a knife and jammed it into the victim’s chest.<br />
Paramedics raced Carroll to Woodhull Hospital but he couldn’t be saved.<br />
The couple, who had moved to Greenpoint six months earlier, were returning from a local bar and just down the block from their home when he was attacked.</p>

<p>The who married in 2012, had been happily talking about a new apartment they had just seen in the neighborhood.<br />
Carroll’s killer and accomplice have not been found.<br />
“Hopefully someone saw something,” Romero Carroll said. “I was screaming. A lot of people were out, walking their dogs. If anyone saw something or knows something&#8230;even if they think it&#8217;s something insignificant&#8230;call the 94th precinct.&#8221;<br />
Carroll, a devout Catholic, moved to New York in 2001 to study acting at the William Esper Studio and had recently been appearing in independent films.</p>

<p>“I can’t believe we are talking about him in the past tense &#8230; it&#8217;s still not registering,” Romero Carroll said. “The officers yesterday were saying &#8216;Sorry for your loss.&#8217; And I was like &#8216;What are they talking about?&#8221;&#8221;<br />
&#8220;I keep thinking I&#8217;ll go back inside and talk to George,&#8221; she added. &#8220;We were going to see two more apartments today.&#8221;<br />
Neighbors watched as a Fire and Rescue department truck washed Carroll’s blood off the street hours after the confrontation.</p>
